Josh Koscheck isn’t letting a shocking upset slow down his brisk competition schedule. MMA Mania reports that the UFC welterweight sorta-contender will attempt to rebound from his knockout loss against Paulo "Seriously?" Thiago at UFC 98 (May 23rd, Las Vegas), where he’s scheduled to take on Team Quest fighter Chris Wilson; it will be Kos’s fourth fight in six months.
A veteran of the IFL and the Oregon-based SportFight league, Wilson has gone 1-2 since entering the UFC in 2008 and likely needs a win to keep his contract. Wilson lost his Octagon debut against Jon Fitch last March (where he was a short-notice replacement for Akihiro Gono), then won a unanimous decision over Steve Bruno in August, and most recently dropped a split-decision to John Howard in UFC 94′s "Fight of the Night." Six of Wilson’s last eight fights have gone to the judges.
As for Koscheck, he’d better do his research this time. And bringing back some of the wrestling that used to work so well for him in the past wouldn’t be such a terrible idea either.

Go gettim' Kos!

Don't like Kos' personality, but you gotta respect a guy who just keeps fighting constantly. I guess it is a bit weird that he literally does nothing but sleep and train, but more power to him.

If Kos loses this one, do you think he'll get his walking papers? This kinda feels like a loser leaves town match.
Sun, 03/01/09 - 11:34
Then I'm sure we're all praying for *goes back to top of article" Chris Wilson. Go Chris!

Hes gonna fight 3 times before Lesnar fights once, yet Dana makes fun of fedor for fighting twice a year. Its been years since Spider has fought.

I don't understand why every bout between two guys coming off a loss becomes a "loser leaves town" match. Nate, do you honestly think the UFC would drop Kos after all time they've invested building him into a contender? Love him or hate him, Kos has big drawing power, it would be insane for them to cut him.

Thanks, i was exaggerating. I know when Anderson fought last. Dana came out after that fight and said he wanted to fight 2 weeks later and make it up to his fans, what a load of shit.. its been like 7 months.

Sounds like a boring fight to me. Chris Wilson is a good fighter but he isnt exciting, and if Koscheck feels he needs a win he will just slowly ground and pound his way to a decision. Lets hope not. Oh well, theres some good fights coming up. Rampage and Jardine pretty much guarantee a knockout. Along with Carwin and Gonzaga.
Sun, 03/01/09 - 01:45
7 months?... or was it 4? Which isnt really a long time at all. he fought October 22nd I believe it was. 4 months isnt a long time for a fighter. And I cant wait until he fights next month. #2 P4P. And exciting as hell. Im sure hes gonna go for a dirty knockout to prove all these douchebags wrong.
Sun, 03/01/09 - 01:51
They only fight when somene asks them or they demand to
Sun, 03/01/09 - 01:55
I expect Koscheck to plow through this guy like War Machine plows through guys at Krave. He's not gay, he just has sex with men for bigger "tips." I think Jesus said "Lest he who is doth not been inside a man's cavity cast the first gay joke."
Sun, 03/01/09 - 02:02
If this is really a win or lose sitch for Wilson I feel bad for the guy. I mean hes been doing good as far as I'm concerned he took on a top UFC ww on short notice for his UFC debut, won a boring decision but still a W on his 2nd outing, and then put up a losing but deserving of a "Fight of the Night" performance on his 3rd outing. Ok time to switch from Wilson's balls to Silva's now by responing to MikeHawks comment by saying unless Leites defeats Silva he IS the #1 P4P in the world. Get THAT in you!!!

I will be watching and praying for another KO....of cupcake that is :) I want cupcheck to lose everytime he fights, he is the biggest wannabee bully-pussy-fuzzy headed chia-pet looking fucktard I have ever seen.

Kos is most definitely in the octagon more often than any other fighters that come to mind but as he states in the aforementioned interview for him its all about the paycheck, which is more than understandable on a few levels (not including that most fighters get no where near the $ they deserve). However, maybe he needs to see his pre-fight prep as an extension of that payday since it seems he's been putting less into that part of the game...a few more "upsets" and he might see less opportunities to fight as often, although given the reaction he brings from fans it may take his blonde curly mop bouncing off the canvas more than a couple times for the ufc to give him walking papers

why did they cut troy mandaloniz after that fight? I know he won't be a contender but they keep far more boring, also .500 fighters around HELP ME
Sun, 03/01/09 - 07:43

My mom was making fun of how small featherweights look, during the Brown/Garcia fight. Then she was like, "Oh oh oh... There's blood everywhere... I hate blood, and I'm a surgeon."
Mon, 03/02/09 - 02:42
