The bloody fallout from last weekend’s "Ultimate Fighter" 10 Finale continues, and the latest victim is Justin "The Viking" Wren. Though he appeared to be one of the better heavyweights on the show, choking out Wes Sims before dropping a very close decision against Roy Nelson, Wren lost a split decision against Jon Madsen on the prelims of the Finale and that was enough to earn him his walking papers. Wren is only twenty-two, so he’s still got time to make another run at the UFC if he gets a couple of wins in the smaller shows.
Do we need to point out here that, based on what we’ve seen from each of them, Wren would probably smoke Kimbo Slice, yet he’s being fired while Kimbo gets to hang around after barely beating a hand-picked opponent? Do we also need to point out that this is kind of bullshit? We didn’t think so.

That is pretty crazy though, I thought Wren was one of the top guys from the show, but then again Madsen wasn't too impressive and Wren lost to him. I think Wren will be back in a few years or sign with someone else.

In general though, shouldn't a TUF loser only have one shot to impress? I mean, they didn't win, and yet they all still get one more fight in the UFC, which if they win, they're guaranteed atlesat another fight or two. Eliot Marshall is a UFC fighter, and he lost TUF to Ryan Bader, but Vinny Marghales was released becasue he didn't win after losing TUF. Makes perfect sense.

Well it really isn't as much bullshit as you or others may think, if you just give it some thought. Wren Sucks Kimbo sucks Wren doesn't have any value to the company Kimbo sells tickets and gets ratings and probably PPV buys Both should be gone but if you have more worth then what you are costing and brink skill wise you will be around allot longer. Look at Rosholt and Leben Rosholt loses and he is cut but yet works Leben. Leben still has a job. Why Rosholt has little value and he is paid a little more then guys with his talent and experience. So that is a real good way to get cut allot quicker. There is a trend with many of these cuts. Some of the guys have a much shorter leash because they want more cash when they come into the UFC, so when they lose and there value goes down there contract doesn't work anymore.

it somtimes makes me mad when the bens pretend to be oblivious to the fact the the UFC makes decisions based on money rather than other factors. The bens know damn well that people are cut, paid, and given title shots based on their ass-in-seats ability rather than their there talent and wins. If it were the other way around WEC fighters would be paid double what they are now, john fitch would have had a title shot sooner, Diego would be fighting gray Manor for #1 contender status and nogueira wold have had first shot at couture, yet they still post articles after WEC shows disscussing why they get payed shit and articles such as this talking about why this guys cut and this isnt just to fill space. of course then theirs stephan bonnar, seriously why the fuck is he in the ufc?
