Ken Shamrock Offers to Pay Zuffa the Court Fees He Owes Them By Fighting Royce Gracie at UFC Rio

(Video courtesy of YouTube/TheFightNetwork)

Ken Shamrock spoke Fight Network Radio recently and stated that he believes that if the UFC would look past their personal and legal issues and give him a rubbermatch with Royce Gracie at UFC Rio in August, they will sell out and set pay-per-view records much like his pair of fights with Tito Ortiz did.

“There’s no doubt in my mind, and anyone else will tell you that if this fight was to happen, this would be the biggest pay-per-view to date, but they will not let that happen. [The UFC] would have to swallow their egos for that to happen and these guys have too big of egos to let that happen,” he said. “I love to fight. I want to fight. I think staying within my capabilities of fighting people who were from my time…Trying to fight these young kids, obviously I’m a bit too old for that, but if I stay within my realm of things I think fans would enjoy it, I would enjoy it and I think it’s good for the sport.”

Although his chances of talking Dana White and company into signing the old school bout are slim-to-none, especially when Shamrock brings up that it likely won’t happen due to the UFC president’s huge ego. Still Ken is holding out hope that money talks.

“That fight, Royce Gracie-Ken Shamrock should happen. The fans want it, I want it, Royce wants it,Brazil wants it. The only problem with that is you have a bunch of people who have big egos who believe that the UFC created this whole thing when they absolutely did not,” he explained. “People like myself and Royce Gracie and [Mark] Coleman and many, many other people created this UFC phenomenon so’s that they can sit there and control it which is what they’re doing today, trying to control it for themselves. So they’re not gonna let that fight happen.”

Shamrock was in this piece of shit hicktown I live in for a seminar(LOL) and to make a appearance at a local wannabe night club here the night of the Shields-GSP fight.

I met him and he must weight 250 pounds or more and was not in fight shape in any way shape or form...

He probably means by fighting Royce for back taxes he owes, He would take a dive if UFC took him off the hook.

As much as I wouldnt care to see this fight in particular, its not about what us american fans think. Royce on a card in Brazil (against an opponent that has history and he could beat) WOULD sell tickets in Rio. Allowing basically the best there ever was to go out on a win in front of a home town crowd would be an epic send off for the UFC to make happen.

Hate on these old bastards all you want, I am certainly not saying they belong in the landscape of todays MMA, but Royce was a killer when there were basically no rules and no weight classes. To send him off on a win in Brazil after tearing off Ken Shamrock's arm or twisting off his head would be sweet.

Royce vs Sakuraba is the matchup I want to see.

"The fans want it, I want it, Royce wants it,Brazil wants it"

Oh come on guys, he's right 1 out of 4 times with that statement...thats not so bad!

Ken, the only thing the fans want is to never hear from your washed up, roided out, take-a-dive-offering ass again.

Ken Shamrock's request to the UFC put through Google translator into ebonics:
"Come on, man. You know I'm a little short. Hook me up, man.
Man, I got these cheeseburgers. They some double cheeseburgers.
Come on, man. I'll suck yo' dick, man.
I said I'll suck yo' dick, man. Come on now."

Gary Busy just wrote with his finger in a pile of his own shit that Ken Shamrock is crazy.

I wanna see Segal front kick sham's in the face, knock his effing teeth out and get a camera close up of sham's falling to the ground all cross eyed.

Ken Shamrock in his prime would be well worth watching. The only problem is that Ken Shamrock has not been in his prime since....well shit when did "Virtuosity" come out?
jfjjfjff- May 6, 2011 at 1:36 pm
i can say with complete honesty that i would much rather watch a few no name fighters go at it than endure the hype, nonsense, and letdown that a shamrock gracie fight would bring.
there is so much more potential for exciting fights with new faces than there is here.
ArmFarmer- May 6, 2011 at 1:28 pm
I wouldn't mind seeing it, but his claims are pretty outrageous. I think for most people it would be a nice nestalgic fight near the bottom of the televised card.. but it wouldn't sell tickets or ppv's.
fretwork- May 6, 2011 at 1:15 pm
"...this would be the biggest PPV to date!" LOL.
nobody cares to watch you shammy.

i can just imagine DW's reaction to this.
Viva Hate- May 6, 2011 at 1:03 pm
Doesn't he owe them like $175,000? So once he works this for free where are they going to get the other $174,000?
jimbonics- May 6, 2011 at 1:00 pm
I'll take a dive in Rio so Royce can get a nice sendoff in front of his Brazilians. I'll do it for the sum of the legal fees I owe Zuffa. Their egos are not at all big.

Yeah I mean, it's all fans talk about!

"When will we get to see Ken fight in the octagon again!? We NEED to see him fight again! He is not at all past his prime by 1000 years!"
Joedirt- May 6, 2011 at 12:56 pm
Ken didn't create shit. The Gracies didn't either... they put together an elaborate commericial... a media ploy to sell BJJ and hand picked fights in the process. Dana and the bros built the UFC into what it is. They turned it from a freakshow to a sport. (at least in America)

O Chan- May 6, 2011 at 12:51 pm
Meh... I wouldn't mind watching it. Won't be the sole reason why I'd get the PPV, but I can see myself showing some interest.
