Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione Official for UFC 113 in May

Putting recent speculation to rest, the UFC officially announced yesterday that Kimbo Slice will indeed face off with his TUF 10 castmate Matt Mitrione at UFC 113 (May 8th, Montreal). Slice is coming off a lackluster unanimous decision win against Houston Alexander at the TUF 10 finale, while Mitrione made his professional MMA debut at the same event, knocking out Marcus "Big Baby" Jones in the second round of their fight.

The fact that the Slice/Mitrione match was briefly removed from the UFC’s website, as well as the UFC’s previous vagueness with Mitrione, makes it seem like the UFC was actually considering Kimbo as an opponent for James Toney, but that freak-show will have to wait for another day. At the moment, Toney’s first opponent in the Octagon and the date of his debut are still question marks.

UFC 113 will be headlined by the light-heavyweight championship rematch between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua; the current lineup is after the jump.

Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio Rua (for light-heavyweight title)
Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley (WW)
Sam Stout vs. Jeremy Stephens (LW)
Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione (HW)
Patrick Cote vs. Alan Belcher (MW)

Tom Lawlor vs. Tim Credeur (MW)
Marcus Davis vs. Jonathan Goulet (WW)
Yoshiyuki Yoshida vs. Mike Guymon (WW)
TJ Grant vs. Johny Hendricks (WW)

So all you mouth's who are talking down to me are saying a repeat of what we already saw once as a main event, and a bunch of coming up fighters is worth your money?
UFC is fine, better than all the rest but all we get is second rate and that is ok with you huh?
hey maybe James Toney will fight Brock for the biggest joke of MMA belt, now won't that be worth a PPV!

Too bad they're not fighting this month. Then Kimbo could shave a shamrock into his chest hair. Guess he'll just have to go with a corona bottle in may

I got Cote for this one.

Via unanimous self deception (stomach cramps).

Its a pretty legit card, minus the Mitrone/Kimbo debacle. I've gone to 2 UFC events in Montreal and I'm definitely going to this one. Montreal fights are where its at (until they come to Toronto) been to a few fights in Vegas and the atmosphere in Montreal is just insane in comparison. You know stouts gonna put on a good show too.

Yea dranokills is a fucking idiot. Or a UFC hater/Strikeforce nuthugger.

"113 is an OK card, not fantastic, but just OK." ---ur spoiled, dranokills, or just really ignorant.

@Yves Latrine I agree, Mitrione is gonna win this one.

While I agree with you all that Creder vs. Lawlor should be a main card fight, Dana knows that Kimbo is huge PPV draw - to maximize PPV purchases there is no way in hell Kimbo will ever be placed on a non-televised undercard. The guy brings in 6 million viewers a fight when it's free, should be able to pull close to 2 million buys with this card.

"113 is an OK card, not fantastic, but just OK."

knucklesamitch is correct.

Any card with Shogun/Lyoto is exceptional.
If that was the only fight on the card it would be worth 49.99.

Kongo would be demolished by Toney if they stood up the entire time. I agree with the masses that Toney can be easily beat in MMA, but not by anyone who wants to just stand with him.
Yves Latrine- March 9, 2010 at 9:08 am
Much as I hate that asshole, I think Mitrione takes this one.

James Toney should fight Jeff Monson. BATTLE OF THE SNOW MEN, OOH WHA-AH AH-AH!
Nut Puncher 9000- March 9, 2010 at 8:36 am
Anyone else feel like Kongo would give Toney a warm welcome? The UFC still gets a stand up fight (most likely)

Marcus Davis gets knocked to the pre-lims.

Too bad.

@ GEE-yuh-TEEN

Was thinking the exact same thing when i read the fight card.. The Kimbo slice fight isnt worthy of a main card fight.
shitbag- March 9, 2010 at 7:20 am
This actually has the makings of a (potential) great card - its in Montreal, great fight town. Either Lawlor vs Credeur or Koscheck vs Daley has the potential to be fight of the night. And Machida vs. Rua II, that fight alone makes it worth it. And throw on Kimbo and you got a fun card.

Or it could suck. Either way.

@ dranokills
shutty, shut it.
GEE-yuh-TEEN- March 9, 2010 at 6:52 am
I'd rather see Lawlor vs Credeur on the main card and Slice vs Mitrione on the prelims.
Viva Hate- March 9, 2010 at 6:49 am
Somewhere James Toney is breathing a sigh of relief and eating a whole slaughtered cow.
knucklesamitch- March 9, 2010 at 6:45 am
Machida/Rua is worth the price of admission.
