The UFC did some spring cleaning this week, shredding the contracts of four recent fight-losers. In order of least surprising to most surprising…
Fabricio Camoes: During his brief stint in the UFC, Camoes drew with Caol Uno (who was released last week along with Lucio Linhares) then got choked out by Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 111. If you’re a relatively unknown prospect, you can’t really hope for more than two chances to pick up your first win in the Octagon. Back to the bush leagues…
Rob Emerson: His unanimous decision loss to rising prospect Nik Lentz at UFC Fight Night 21 was his third defeat in his last four fights, and dropped his career record to a grim 9-9. It was a little odd to see Emerson get this fight in the first place, as it came less than two months after his decision win over Phillipe Nover at UFC 109, but it’s just been too long since Emerson truly impressed. You hate to see that happen to such a kindhearted person…
Brad Blackburn: Yes, Blackburn’s TKO loss to Damarques Johnson at UFC 112 was his second straight — following an earlier decision loss against Amir Sadollah — but the recent losses came after a three-fight win streak that saw him knock off the very tough Edgar Garcia and Ryo Chonan. I would have thought that Blackburn might get a stay of execution. Hard times, brother.
Jason High: Usually, the "one and done" policy is reserved for fighters whose performances shame their families. And yet Jason High has reportedly been cut after his decision loss to fellow newcomer Charlie Brenneman at UFC Fight Night 21. As his Octagon debut came directly after his knockout loss to Marius Zaromskis, High maybe had a little more to prove. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it happen.

commentsIn Montreal I want to bring a poster that says "You knew Soares. You knew".
If Soares is even remotely involved in the fight, I do not bet on it.
@natsdad
Dana for sure knows what's up, this is old hat in boxing.....After global expansion, I think that growing the gap between MMA and Boxing is on Dana's to do list....There is no way he would want to shine that kind of light on the UFC....but he did speak with Anderson for about an hour after the fight, I am sure Dana let him know how he felt and that was the last time he could ever try to pull that shit off again.
More personality than Matty.
He'd even be an excellent opposing coach for tuf. Too bad it wasn't him and Matt instead of toto/chuck.
But maybe they think the Gracie name gives them more promotional value by bringing them in just to clown them instead of building them up and keeping them around.
They didn't really give High a chance either IMO. Some people seem to get to skid almost endlessly and some just dont get a chance at all.
Muthafickin fight fixen assholes
Well, sure. He's loved in Abu Dhabi, and the UFC wanted his star power for the show. They don't need him now.
Thanks for being a legend, Renzo. Now get the fuck out.
100%....Silva is that good and Soares is that corrupt.
@Cecils Pupils
The list is more or less complete and much funnier now, how about that old country boy standing and banging too.
@nooger
Sadly I too had this discussion with my friend after sitting through Leites/Silva in Montreal..... I never thought he would be so bold as to try it again though.
I would like to hear Dana White's reaction to such a theory.....I think deep down inside he feels the same way and when he left octagon side early I bet it was going through his mind as well.
