Like Most Asians, Cung Le Is Not Afraid of Anderson Silva

In this video of Cung Le fielding questions at a seminar of some sort, the Strikeforce middleweight champ gives the lowdown on his relationship with the UFC (skip to the 0:47 mark). Apparently, Dana White wants to lock him into an exclusive six-fight contract, but Le still has three fights remaining on his Strikeforce contract — even though Strikeforce would be willing to let him fight Anderson Silva in a one-off match. (White, obviously, doesn’t play that shit.) But then it gets interesting. Speaking about Silva, Le says:

“Anderson Silva is pound-for-pound ranked number one, but what I see is, all four of his losses are all by Asians…those Asians are not scared of him, so they will come in and they will engage the fight. Now, everyone in the UFC who’s fighting him, they’re fighting scared. I mean, I’m gonna go in there, I’m either gonna win or I’m gonna lose. It’s how am I gonna win or how am I gonna lose. And when I walk out of there I want to be able to carry my head high, because if I happen to lose, I gave it my all…It’s like, I have nothing to lose. What can they say? Anderson Silva is favored to win. I got nothing to lose.”

He then goes off on a tangent about how much of a lush Quinton Jackson is, and how he watched Rampage down 14 Jack-and-cokes in one sitting. But never mind that. The important thing is that Asian fighters are kryptonite for Anderson Silva! Well, if you count Silva’s DQ against Yushin Okami as a legitimate loss, and if you count Luiz Azeredo as Asian, then sure, the statement totally holds water. But hey, when a fight with the Spider lurks in the distance, you comfort yourself with the little things.

There is a legitimate stand to the asian thing and that is because they tend to favor skills over there instead of striking.Cung Le IS a striker so it totally changes the theory.Silva is A LOT like Cung Le ,he does not like to be taken down,he prefers to use his reach and strike.
As to FREE TIME? obviously has no clue about Cung Le what so ever.The ONLY reason A SIlva is any good is because of his reach,without it Cung Le would destroy him terribly in a stand up game,there is no question about it.That is A Silva's only weapon and chance against Cung Le is to stay away from Cung's reach and use his own.Silva has great kicks as well,but if Cung gets a hold of even one he will do the exact same thing as Silva did to irvine,only he won't punch him he will make him look bad with a leg sweep and hurt those skinny Silva legs.

True that Silva's elbows and knees are dangerous to most taller opponents whenever Silva is able to clamp-up the opponent for a take-down or lock-up them up to strike them with his elbows and knees.

However, most asian fighters are shorter, faster, and harder to clamp-up for a take-down.

Cung Le would just slip and slide out of Silva's clamp and then sweep Silva's legs and Silva would be flat on his ass in less than 1 second.

Silva's longer arms a legs are actually a disadvantage since Cung's powerful kicks would break Silva's arms and legs just like with Frank S.

I think it's more of an ethnic gene for asians that make them have a facial structure that prevents KO's. Yeah alot of asians get the shiet beat out of em, but I only see them get KO'd every now and then.

the only reason Asian's are Anderson's "Weakness" is because they have chins made of solid gold..

they don't even have to be good fighters, and they still won't get KO'd..

i mean, you see asians get thrown around, dominated, anything.. but you barely ever see them KO'd.. like, actually, unconcious.. unless it's by another Asian.. but, that's about it..

sure, they get TKO'd every now and then.. whether it's an injury, or they aren't intelligently defending.. but to see one hit the canvas face first, unconcious is just... rare.. sort of..

Asians are Anderson weakness right up there next to BBQ chicken and big brested strippers.
Maybe we should change styles make fights into races make fights.
Instead of a Kickboxer vs a Jui Jitsu guy make it some asian dude vs some brazilian guy sounds simpler to me.

Cung Le needs to do some more fights he sounds like hes got too much free time on his hands.

Le is a stupid-ass idiot for not even knowing that Irvin was going forward and got his face broken for doing so. I hope Cung Le, yes Cung Le not Chung Le you stupid fucks, goes forward into Silva's punch as well. Only if there was a way for Le to do some strength training for his bones... then he might stand a chance.

silva also lost to Daiju Takase which was fucked cause he was heavily favored and ryo chonnan annihilated him. and yushin was smacking him around
like a girl that's why he had to whip out the old illegal upkick.

The Spider has been at a completely different level of his game, when fighting in Asia. Other than his previous losses have little to do with everything else, like fighting asian fighters.
