Lil’ Nog vs. Alexander Gustafsson Tapped as Main Event for UFC on Fuel 2 Event in Sweden

(“Does my breath smell like surströmming?”)

The UFC announced today that a light heavyweight bout between former PRIDE standout Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and fast-rising Swedish star Alexander Gustafsson has been inked for the main event of UFC Sweden on April 14. The event, also dubbed “UFC on FUEL 2,” will take place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm and will be broadcast live on FUEL TV.

“Sweden has been on our radar for a long time and on April 14, we’re excited to finally bring the UFC to Stockholm,” UFC President Dana White said today. “We’re putting together a great card for the Swedish fans. I can’t wait to get there in April!”

The card also features bouts between Siyar Bahadurzada and Paulo Thiago, DaMarques Johnson and John Maguire, Jörgen Kruth and Cyrille Diabate, Magnus Cedenblad and Francis Carmont, Brian Stann and Alessio Sakara, Brad Pickett and Damacio Page and James Head and Papy Abedi.

Tickets go on sale for the event to UFC Fight Club members on Wednesday and to the general public on Friday.

Gonna be a good fight. I'd put some money down on Gustafsson. The Nogueira brothers are a little too slow, and Gus has a pretty nice reach.

If you consider Lil Nog coming off a win after beating up another 40 year old, then put him up against Matyushenko again and finish that rubber match. Gustafsson better be offended he didn't get a better matchup like Shogun, Hendo, Machida, or Rampage, come out, and murder the Brazilian in the cage. I hope Nog doesn't pull the same bull shit he did agains Phil Davis in that snoozefest. I agree with @FightZen

-200 to -250 opening on Gustafsson will be what it looks like.
Nog's best chance is catching him with a counter left hook.
Gustafsson has so many ways to win this fight..steamrollin' is one of them.

Gustafson all the way on this one. Nog doesn't have it anymore, imo. I smell a steamrollin'.

I like this match up. Both fighters are coming off wins and both have undeniable skill sets. I'm hard pressed to pick a fav though, I like both of these guys. Lil Nog probly has the edge in grappling but, both hit pretty hard. Should be awesome.

Good times to be an MMA fan living in Stockholm right now.
Can't wait for the event, and the swedish crowd is gonna explode from excitement inside The Globe. Better put ear plugs in when Alex steps into the arena to whoop some brazilian ass.

Decent way to bring Gustfson up, And if he loses they have another contender to be killed in one of Jones 7 fights this year, win win really. Gustafson has plenty of time to fight before JOnes runs through him also.
