(Kenny Florian, who may be taking over for Barack Obama in 2013, plugs UFC 101 on Good Day Philadelphia.)
MMA Junkie passes along the news that UFC 101 (August 8th, Philadelphia) has been given the official title of "Declaration" — get it, geniuses? — and points out that the main card bouts (as well as five prelim fights) are now finalized. Here’s what we’re dealing with:
MAIN CARD
B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian (for lightweight championship)
Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin (LHW)
Amir Sadollah vs. Johny Hendricks (WW)
Kendall Grove vs. Ricardo Almeida (MW)
Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino (LW)
UNDERCARD
Shane Nelson vs. Aaron Riley (LW)
Tamdan McCrory vs. John Howard (WW)
Matt Riddle vs. Dan Cramer (WW)
George Sotiropoulos vs. Rob Emerson (LW)
Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort (WW)
So, other than the two headlining fights, it’s a Fight Night-caliber lineup, for the most part — but those two fights are going to be sick, so who’s really complaining? Plus, there’s that reported match between Thales Leites and Alessio Sakara, which would be a welcome addition. Between Penn, Silva, Sadollah, Leites, and the Nelson/Riley rematch, they may as well call this card "Redemption 2." If you got early predictions, holla…

commentsI don't think it will happen, but I really hope Forrest beats Silva. Someone needs to knock the Spider of his high-horse again and remind him what he does for a living.
Like any fat girl 8 beers deep, Forrest is a perfect drought-breaker.
i think forrest will do whatever it takes to beat silva, he doesnt want to lose two in a row, i might add no one thought forest would beat rampage either, and by dropping a weight class forrest should be even better than a LHW
im taking florian and forrest
Griffin is a big LHW and may be able to stifle Anderson's offense.
My biggest concern is Griffin's propensity for bleeding. He cuts easily and Anderson can lacerate the best of them. Of course the longer I take to type this post, I am convincing myself that Silva wins by second rnd TKO. Fuck it, I give up.
BJ will win if he is in shape. I hope BJ is not in shape. I hope Florian slashes his face open with his elbows.
Then Penn will accuse Florian of greasing. BJ will probably take 20-30 minutes to him self and then finger his own ham clam
Penn wont walk away.........period.
Kenny Florian will out strike Bj Penn with kick after kick...then split Bj's face open with his razor blade elbows......then choke him out if he so chooses to.
Penn will not walk away with the belt....
Although I can't imagine a UFC fighter would have too hard of a time picking up bitches. That is as long as he won his fight.
WAR MOTHERFUCKING BARNCAT!!!
You can't make comparisons like that in mma. That methodology has been proven wrong too many times. Kenny/BJ should be a great fight as long as BJ is motivated, which is unlikely since he is training in his alcoholic grandfather's garage.
Dana must be pretty glad to have him...
Silva by decision.
Amir by triangle choke round 1.
Almeida by TKO round 1.
Neer by decision.
Nelson by decision.
Tamdan by arm bar round 2.
Riddle by decision.
George by DQ (Lords of So Cal jump into ring during middle of round 2 all NWO-style).
Lennox by spinning back fist round 1.
I like Forrest over Anderson and ..... the fight of the night will be:
Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino.
Oh and Amir is going to actually fight someone other than CB? We will see.....
he still has plenty of time to get hurt in training between now and then.
I like this card...
First rnd KO - Silva
First rnd TKO Baby Jay
