Look Who Dana White Was Hanging With at UFC 93

Dana White and Alistair Oveerem are living it up at UFC 93 in this picture from our friends at Free Fight Videos.  Semmy Schilt also made it out to the event, but man does Dana ever look chummy with "The Demolition Man."  Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but does the look on Overeem’s face say, ‘I’m putting my arm around this man because he is my new boss,’ to you?

It seems like alot of people on this forum are misinformed on the effects of performance enhancing drugs. HGH is undetectable in UFC drug screenings and possibly is better suited for MMA athletes compared to Testosterone Enanthate or Winstrol which are two of the most common steroids used illegally by athletes today. HGH helps build and maintain lean muscle mass and endurance/stamina which would benefit fighters better than steroids. Either way, more guys have used performance enhancing drugs than you think.

No chump here bro. You can be a dick all you want, but you can't deny my original point. I don't know if you read Anonymous' post (about 8 before mine), but it's just kind of comical that grown men (or young adults) can't use punctuation correctly or spell, yet they try to come across as the leading expert of mma.
Then there is people like you that even though you KNOW I have a valid point, you look for the simplest mistake like that somehow makes what I said not true or, makes you better than me because you didn't make a mistake (THIS TIME). Get a life bro.

I think people look at pride and see more action and more violence and just assume that means better fighters. They don't realize how much the absence of drug testing, the ring, the rules, the refs, the match ups, the fans, the promoting ect. ect. effect the way the fights/fighters look. Pride was less about formal sports competition and more about theatrics, grudge matches, mismatchs, freak show fights and so on. Pride's number one goal was entertainment value. UFC is more of a "real sport" where fighters are matched up based on rankings in order to determine top contenders to fight for titles. It's about finding out who is the best at the sport, not just entertainment. I just think people look at the brawling in pride and equate that with skill, and look at boring fights in the ufc and think that's due to lack of skill. More often the case is that both guys are so skilled they kind of nullify eachother. Just because a fights not exciting doesn't mean the fighters aren't skilled. *cough* machida *cough*

If Pride was the premiere fighting organization with the best fighters, Dana and "the boys" wouldn't have been able to buy them out. The bottom line is, as the UFC grew into the monopoly of mma that it is today, people realized where the best and most talented fighters were and "put" their money their. Yeah Pride has some bad-asses, but the UFC has the better, stronger, stable of fighters.

P.S. This site is an english teachers nightmare. Looks like a bunch of fourth graders posing as mma fans (grammar & punctuation wise). Good thing I'm a drug dealer! I know Ms. Lavender would be so proud.

Yeah the pride guys are having to fight with ufc rules, but I doubt forrest griffin, rashad, lidell, ect. would really complain about being aloud to head stomp and soccer kick. A lot of ufc guys would look really brutal and dominant too if they were aloud to stomp people into the ground. But yeah I wasn't saying that ufc fighters as a whole are better than pride fighters, I'm just saying it's really dumb to say pride fighters are better than ufc fighters. They both have a lot of talent and they're pretty close.

If you really think pride fighters are that much better all you have to do is take a look at anyones top 10 rankings for each weight class as well as p4p and you don't exactly see the lists dominated by pride fighters.

that's because when the pride guys have fought the ufc guys, it's mainly been in the octagon. is it a coincidence that most of the pride guys aren't quite as good now that they fight in the ufc? i don't think so. i think if all the ufc fighters were forced to go over and fight in pride, we'd be seeing the pride guys doing better. simple as that.

i agree it was a dumbass statement from that guy to say that it's "straight up fact" that pride fighters are better. and i realize you might not be saying that the ufc fighters are better than the ones from pride. but i think you could definitely make the argument that pride had a better crop of great, top fighters. and if the evidence of ufc being better is that the ufc guys win more against them (in the freakin UFC), then that's not a fair way to judge that.

Nog=Pride fighter former champ and UFC champ but defeated by Mir. Sometimes I think u guys never watched a pride fight. U guys should go watch some Nog fights at pride. He always used to get knocked during the fight, that guy is used to it but now at UFC it seems like he can't fight that way anymore since refs will fuck him up

Anderson Silva=he just owned every single fighter that joined faced him at octagon and thats include former Pride champion Dan. Henderson, but did had a lost at pride

Wanderlei=fucking nice scary dud=going noway with the old "go trough" style

Wer talking about FIGHTS and every little second counts and can change everything .

pride had a ton of talent. no denying that. but some of their fighters are really not the same at all without the pride rules. i.e. shogun and wandy. the are not the same without soccer kicks, which may be telling for how good they really are. i was kinda disappointing to not see coleman on his back with shogun standing over him. i was looking forward to how he'd fare without the stomps.

but fighters like hendo and rampage aren't affected negatively by the ufc rules. thats why they are still awesome and are only getting better.
