("Waaaaaaaaahhhhh!")
Judging from his TUF 10 wins over Mike Wessel and Darrill Schoonover, and subsequent losses to Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione, Marcus "Big Baby Darkness" Jones looked like he was halfway to being a serious heavyweight threat. He had the size, power, and ground game, but his boxing skills and chin left a lot to be desired. Despite his late start in MMA, we figured Jones would return to American Top Team, shore up his striking, and return stronger than ever — especially since he always seemed very passionate about the sport. But according to Around the Octagon, there’s been a change of plans:
You may recall that in the last episode of TUF 10, Jones contemplated retirement following his loss to Schaub, explaining that he doesn’t want to put his wife through any more grief. Considering he started his fight career a little over two years ago, the retirement definitely feels premature. But he’ll be in good company: In a related story, crusty old-timer Don Frye has announced his retirement from the sport after 13 years, citing a blossoming acting career and poor treatment from promoters: "I’m tired of the (expletive) treatment, being lied to and tired of getting bounced checks from people," Frye said. "They can go pound sand as far as I’m concerned…The fight game isn’t a respectful profession any more. They’ve made a mockery out of it by letting Jose Canseco fight, and now Herschel Walker, and all these other jackasses in their 40’s who have never fought. They’re getting paid more than the guys who have been putting years into it. It’s an embarrassment and a shame.”
Frye’s current career aspirations include doing a Western with Clint Eastwood, because "It’s always fun to hop on a horse and shoot somebody.”

commentsHow truly murican of him to point out what an embarrassment and a shame those other people are.
I'm just checking.
Wondering, though, if he might stick with grappling.
And good riddance to the idiotic ramblings of the irrelevant Don Frye. You're old, and still tough, WE GET IT.
Winner gets to retire like he wishes. Loser has to sign a three fight deal with a small promotions somewhere in the Midwest.
Frye via mustache tickle in the first.
