("Waaaaaaaaahhhhh!")
Judging from his TUF 10 wins over Mike Wessel and Darrill Schoonover, and subsequent losses to Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione, Marcus "Big Baby Darkness" Jones looked like he was halfway to being a serious heavyweight threat. He had the size, power, and ground game, but his boxing skills and chin left a lot to be desired. Despite his late start in MMA, we figured Jones would return to American Top Team, shore up his striking, and return stronger than ever — especially since he always seemed very passionate about the sport. But according to Around the Octagon, there’s been a change of plans:
You may recall that in the last episode of TUF 10, Jones contemplated retirement following his loss to Schaub, explaining that he doesn’t want to put his wife through any more grief. Considering he started his fight career a little over two years ago, the retirement definitely feels premature. But he’ll be in good company: In a related story, crusty old-timer Don Frye has announced his retirement from the sport after 13 years, citing a blossoming acting career and poor treatment from promoters: "I’m tired of the (expletive) treatment, being lied to and tired of getting bounced checks from people," Frye said. "They can go pound sand as far as I’m concerned…The fight game isn’t a respectful profession any more. They’ve made a mockery out of it by letting Jose Canseco fight, and now Herschel Walker, and all these other jackasses in their 40’s who have never fought. They’re getting paid more than the guys who have been putting years into it. It’s an embarrassment and a shame.”
Frye’s current career aspirations include doing a Western with Clint Eastwood, because "It’s always fun to hop on a horse and shoot somebody.”

Later this week, some long time, serious actors will retire, stating... " They’ve made a mockery out of it by letting Don Frye act, and all these other jackasses in their 40’s who have never acted. They’re getting paid more than the guys who have been putting years into it. It’s an embarrassment and a shame.”

Jones is an idiot. You can't ask for better exposure than he got being on TUF this season(and piggybacking Kimbo to a degree). Even if he doubted his abilities, he could have received 2-3 inflated pay days before promoters stop paying him the big bucks. He probably would have been given atleast one more fight on a UFC card due to what a character he was, and I"m sure he would have been paid a little more than the average mid carder. Whatever, later you no stand up crying bitch boy. And good riddance to the idiotic ramblings of the irrelevant Don Frye. You're old, and still tough, WE GET IT.

Big Baby doesn't have it in his heart. I'm seriously curious how he made it through 7 years in the NFL. I'm not bagging him - you don't see me on the big screens . . . just don't see him gutting through the highs and lows of one on one combat sport. Maybe that's how he got through the NFL . . . He had the whole team to hold him up.

Just so I have this straight -- we have a guy whose football career seems to have taken a toll and left him ill-prepared to take punches, as great as his ground game might be. He's a bright guy who can do other things. And we're saying he's an idiot for not going out and taking more punches? I'm just checking. Wondering, though, if he might stick with grappling.

Goddammit! I was pulling for you Big Baby;(

So... Don Frye is pissed that people are coming into his industry without devoting their live to it like he has? Interesting. I wonder how all the people who have seriously devoted their entire lives to becoming an actor feel about Mr. Frye coming (returning) to Hollywood. Is 'pounding sand' a good thing?

Lol at flag panties making fun of jackasses in their 40's running on fumes in japan for the entertainment of weird japanese wrestling fans. How truly murican of him to point out what an embarrassment and a shame those other people are.

And what have you lame ass fucking naysayers done with your lives since Big Baby is such an "idiot" and he only made it 7 years in the NFL because the rest of his team "hold him up". How stupid can you be. First of all, Jones is probably set for life from those 7 years of his team mates holding him up. Second of all, at least he had the nuts to try the sport of MMA. Have any of you ever fought professionally? And pushing your little sister down doesn't count!!! Give the guys the respect they deserve dick heads!

You guys obviously haven't seen Don Frye in his starring role in Godzilla: Final Wars. Where's the challenge in fighting once you've defeated an entire alien race? Time to move on to bigger and better things.
