Mark Coleman ‘Sissies Out’ of Tito Ortiz Fight at UFC 106

For the second time since his return to the UFC, Mark Coleman has been forced to drop out of a high-profile co-headlining bout. According to Tito Ortiz‘s Twitter feed, the Hammer has withdrawn from their UFC 106 meeting, forcing Ortiz to kick someone else’s ass on November 21st. (According to Mark Coleman’s Twitter feed, Coleman is "finally on twitter trying 2 figure out how 2 use this thing lol".)

No word yet on what exactly forced the pull-out, or who Mark’s replacement might be. Could Rashad Evans be pulled off his scheduled fight against Thiago Silva to rematch Ortiz, who he drew with in 2007? Will Ortiz get a gatekeeper-type like Keith Jardine? A fellow veteran like the returning Lil’ Nog? Or will the UFC just go with the obvious cash cow?

The news ban for anything coming FROM Tito, should still be enforced...

Tito news...Ok.

Tito news from Tito...Never ok.

@ ArmFarmer

Very eloquently put, this "possible" match-up may not be as one-sided as I once believed.

When a match up is in question I always trust the Pro / Con chart:

Tito's --PROS
1. advanced ground game
2. uses mind games
3. experience

Tito's ---CONS
1. susceptible to TKO/KOs
2. gasses too quickly
3. enormous target for head shots
Jenna's Snooch -- PROS
1. takes a lot of punishment
2. ability to envelop opponents
3. never been submitted
4. purple belt in Gracie Jujitsu

Jenna's Snooch's --CONS
1. susceptible to armbars (though never tapped)
2. defenses easily penetrated
3. near non-existent stand up game
4. labia be lookin like a pair of Slim Jims

I want the Vegas spread on this one

and fuck tito.

Nut Puncher 9000- October 6, 2009 at 11:10 am
Please stop suggesting Kimbo fight anyone else. Its obvious to me that the UFC will give KIMBO a can to crush in the finale and then set up Chuck Liddell's return to the octagon against him. 2 bangers that dont take down, 2 HUGE draws.

@Angled Dangle

I gotta disagree with you on that one.. I've seen that shit get tapped hundreds of times. Even Tito can tap it so it's obviously got some holes in it's game. Even if it managed to survive the submissions, it'd get put on the ground and pounded out for sure. It's gaurd is very easy to pass and it would just leave too many openings for anyone with any skill from the top position. I think it's safe to say that if it gets mounted.. it's screwed.

On the other hand, it can take an immense amount of punishment. I've heard it's been unloaded on by multiple opponents at once and just ate every shot like they were nothing.

@ blade
Not a bad idea.
Angled Dangle- October 6, 2009 at 9:02 am
How difficult would it be to sign Jenna's womb? It's gotta tough, developed ground game, and throughout the years I've never seen it tap. GET IT DONE, DANA

According to other sites, it's supposedly an MCL tear? Don't like Coleman, but sucks if true. And yes, I wanted to see Tito [ironically] give Mark a karmic asskicking for what he did to Bonnar (Whom I'm even a fan of).
clutchy hopkins- October 6, 2009 at 8:25 am
itll be houston alexander
ReDx- October 6, 2009 at 7:41 am
There's no way they would put Kimbo up against him. TUF will still be airing during that time and I'm sure they wouldn't want to ruin the "Kimbo may come back" theme they have going.
jimbonics- October 6, 2009 at 7:37 am
Sucks. I wanted to see these two GnP legends go at it.
Cindy- October 6, 2009 at 7:04 am
Why is Tito still using a sidekick???
Mike Milbury- October 6, 2009 at 6:58 am
Fucking Coleman. Yes, he may be a legend, but all he's doing is taking up a roster spot from a young guy, getting guys kicked out of their own gym (Bonnar) and wasting people's time again with stuff like this (Granted, it could be an injury). I'm tired at this guy being on the active roster.

WHY DOES UFC.COM have carwin as 6'5? isnt he like 6'1?
those bitches trying to make him look bigger he sucks hes gonna get owned by the lesnar train CHOOO CHOOO
blade- October 6, 2009 at 6:48 am
id say give him brian stann
Phil Baloni- October 6, 2009 at 6:37 am
i wouldn't mind seeing rashad shut him up. rashad is waaay better than when they fought the first time and at least there's some back story to sell it. meh..maybe it would suck though.

ArmFarmer- October 6, 2009 at 6:05 am
I'm not interested in a Rashad rematch.. doesn't get any more boring than their last fight. Literally 3 rounds of hugging and I'm not one to complain about grappling or the occassional boring fight. that one was bad though.

Kimbo would get mauled.. it'd be like the Nelson fight over again except for Tito would actually devistate him and not just pitty pat. They won't sacrifice kimbo for tito, not yet anyway. They will want to give him at least a little bit of a chance to put on some good fights with other one dimensional strikers.
LastEmperor- October 6, 2009 at 6:00 am
Thank the gods. What a boring fight that would have been.
K.E.G.- October 6, 2009 at 5:56 am
There is no way Tito fights Kimbo. There is a few good matchups for Tito, but I think they will give Kimbo someone that doesn't have much of a ground game. I'm thinking someone who just had a dominate performance outside the UFC but is still under contract with them.
Ed M- October 6, 2009 at 5:54 am
I think maybe he gets Forrest.
