("If you’d like to donate to the Michael Bisping Memorial Fund…")
According to UFC prez Dana White (via Fighters Only magazine), Michael Bisping would be ready for a title shot if he manages to defeat Dan Henderson following their coaching stints on The Ultimate Fighter: Team U.S. vs. Team U.K., which is scheduled to premiere on April 1st after UFC Fight Night 18. The only thing that would prevent an immediate title shot for Bisping in this scenario is if Anderson Silva is tied up in the light-heavyweight division. As White explains:
Ever the good employee, Bisping is already preparing mentally for the possibility. As he tells FO:
Oh man. Fighters talking about the proper way to beat Anderson Silva (and Fedor Emelianenko) never stops being hilarious to me. It should be noted that Dan Henderson actually had some early success against Silva with an aggressive rough-’em-up style during their fight at UFC 82 last March, but that only made the Spider angrier, and Hendo was obliterated in the second round. And as we saw in his last fight against Patrick Cote, Anderson Silva now has the power to blow-out knees using only his mind. So basically, Bisping had better start training with Freddie Roach, or he has no chance in this one.

comments"Is Bisping aware that he's been protected and groomed? How does a "great" middle-weight fighter like Bisping manage to never fight:
1) Nate Marquart
2) Yushin Okami
3) Thales Leites
4) Damien Maia
5) Rich Franklin
6) Dan Henderson
Look closely at his record. He's beat nobody of consequence. Ever. I like the guy and his hard-knocks road to the UFC is pretty cool... but c'mon. A win over Jason Day and Leben doesn't make you the guy who's going to unravel the Anderson enigma."
It's a well known fact he's being kept around because he holds a large euro fan base. He would get obliterated by silva. I mean i'm talking the first 30 seconds TKO/KO.
You have a "PURPLE helmet"?
I think you are dreaming if you think that most people here understand that. Take pride in tha fact you are one of the few who does.
I think MOST people on here realize that the UFC is a business and that Bisping is a "product". We realize that it's in the UFC's best interested to milk him as much as they can. We also realize that Bisping MUST create interest in himself by calling out fighters and creating drama. We also realize that certain fighters, even if they have amazing talent, can't be marketed due to their lack of drama or inability to speak English and therefore promote themselves as well as a less talented fighter could.
But who wants to talk about that?
Everyday I read these articles/comments and I am amazed at how many people dont understand the business aspects of promoting. You cant have your up and comers lose to someone who already lost to Anderson; The point is to get Anderson Silva in the ring defending his belt, not to watch all possible competition lose setting up nothing but rematches with already beaten/destroyed opponents.
I, for one, say Bisping should be allowed to fight A.S. Win or lose its the biggest title fight 185 can produce now. I would imagine more PPV buys for Bisping/silva than any Hendo/Franklin/Marquart/etc rematch.
get proactive homie.
Nice knowing you Bisping.
All of you who said Bisping has had an incredibly easy road and doesn't deserve a title shot... you are absolutely right. All of you who said he isn't in Anderson's class and should shut his ugly cockney mouth about someone far superior to his limited skill-level... you are absolutely right. Everyone who said Bisping would get destroyed by Dan Henderson (and probably about 5 or 6 other middleweights that aren't Anderson Silva)... you are absolutely right.
But I still want to see this match. Mainly because I want Anderson Silva to have another spectacular, highlight reel knockout, and Bisping's over-confident ass is just begging to be on the other end of that.
Honestly when was the last fight he didn't back peddle the whole time? Is there one cuz I musta missed that one. Most every fight I've seen him in he worked real hard to keep his distance so he could counter punch and leave it to the judges.
Which is why I'm totally looking forward to a Bisping vs. Silva fight. I know he doesn't deserve a title shot, but I'm gonna love watching him get knocked the f*ck out. I only hope Silva shatters his jaw so we don't have to hear him speak when his mouth's wired shut.
Henderson will own Bisping anyway. So would Franklin. I think Bisping knows he's being protected, but he's too damn scared to man up and fight some real fighters.
I can just see Bisping when Anderson get's his heat-lock on at the beginning of round 2. You know, when you can almost see Silva find his range... beep, beep, beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeeeeeep *target acquired*. Then the feces hits the oscillater. Bisping will be like, "Dang, guess I forgot to smother him."
