MMA Fighter Challenges People to Punch Him in the Face, Everyone Fails

MMA FightPicker Update: A Moral Victory

(Left: The poster for this Saturday’s WEC event. Right: Proof of BG’s FightPicker superiority.)

Props to Jeremy Hill for winning the MMA fan package in last week’s MMA FightPicker prize pool — and special props to myself for taking first place in my final head-to-head pool against BF, despite getting four of the questions wrong. It was that kind of week, I guess. (What happened, Dan Quinn’s Tramp Stamp? Put all your eggs in the Tim Stout basket?) Anyway, I hope this eases the rest of your concerns about the sound leadership of CagePotato.com, in the absence of you-know-who.

There’s no prize pool in effect this week on MMA FightPicker, but every week presents new opportunities to claw your way up the leaderboard and challenge the dominance of Aaron Rampey, who frankly seems to be getting a little too comfortable in first place. Perennial contender surf_finland trails him by just 437 PotatoChips at the moment, while nismo17, herbaliser, and Nick Allen TheBrave round out the FightPicker top 5. Take a look at this week’s WEC 48-related questions after the jump, then head over to fightpicker.cagepotato.com to make your picks!

Another thing I came to realize this weekend is that KOTC can be a lot more fun than Strikeforce, even without recognizable names. Miller picked the wrong horse, I think.

I picked badly this last week - coming in 10 out of 10 in one pool. Lesson learned: don't underestimate the young, hungry wrestlers, and never rule out decisions across the board. Also, Japanese New Year cards are jokes and mismatches, so don't read too much into anybody's skills from an arm breaking submission at one of them.

Stuck to my guns with Gil & pulled off the win. Thanx Cagepotato for my new Tee & pride dvd.

Aldo is about to crack Faber .. I like Faber, but Aldo is a fuckin' beast.
Brazilians are too good.

Hmm...

Mousasi vs. Lawal: Who will win?
BG: Never heard of this "Lawal" guy. All I know is that Gegard Mousasi is gonna beat the brakes off of King Mo.
BF: I don’t feel at all secure with this pick, but I’m taking King Mo. I think his wrestling will keep Mousasi off-balance all night.

You doing a head-to-head with Mike, BG?

Only opposite George could have come out a winner in the Strikeforce picker...

As long as Brown beatd Gamburyan I don't care what happens with the rest of the card.
I kinda hope Garcia vs Chan goes to a draw. I like them both.

Took an epic beating at the StrikeForce Picker. Hopefully i'll bounce back this weekend.
