After a short week of pickin’ for UFC Fight Night 21: Florian vs. Gomi, it’s time to stretch out a bit. The pools for next Saturday’s UFC 112 card are now open on MMA FightPicker and two things are worth noting: 1) You have a full nine days to enter pools and make your selections, and 2) Up for grabs in the prize pool this time around is a 32-inch television. Seriously. And it’s a nice one, too. A 3,800-chip buy-in gains you access to the 25-person-limit prize pool, in which the first-place winner will score a Sony BRAVIA 32" 1080p LCD HDTV, valued at $549.99.
Yes, 3,800 Potato Chips is about 3,750 more than you have at this point; we realize that. So why not buy some chips? Put it this way: If you need a 32" flat-screen and you think you have a good handle on how UFC 112 will play out, you could pick up a brand-new television at a very deep discount. The prize pool requires a minimum of 16 players, and it includes a tie-breaker question that you’ll need to answer. Any of you sissies have the guts to play? Anybody feel like taking a look at the questions before making such a rash decision?
UPDATE: Okay, listen up crybabies. We realize it’s not fair to con you into buying chips when the prize pool could shut down for not hitting the minimum number of players. So we’re going to lift the minimum player requirement for this one. Thanks for all your feedback, and please check back later…

Wonder who is gonna balls up and buy in first? Still at 0-25. Hm.....
Let's face it, I am never gonna win a CP T-shirt for Comment of the Week or a Caption Contest. At least that way I could spare you all the agony and just save up CP potato chips for a few months and just redeem them!
have you ever thought about making 'satellite' pools like in online poker?
Might helps draw to bigger prizes like this
get more ipads if possible...
This item isn't intended for those of you who are complaining...the losers of past events. It's for the hardcore who are stacking their chips for just such an item. Absolutely nothing is preventing each and every person in this thread from doing the same.
If you made a parlay and put 50 down with all the picks in the fight picker you could easily win 2000
It just doesn't make sense to put up 50 for a $500 TV
What is the point in me buying chips if the pool will not hit it's 16 person minimum. If history repeats itself I could be stuck with a bunch of chips that will never be able to be used in a limited entry pool. Sure they could be used in unlimited prize pools but those most likely would get more than 16-25 entrants reducing the odds of winning.
For this to be fair to the Potatonation, the 16 person minimum should be abolished to reward people with the balls to spend real money on a contest with the chance of winning. Sure, the first contest may run in the red, but people will buy chips when they see that they have a really good at winning, as opposed to a 100% chance of the pool being cancelled.

Anyone that can afford to gamble $50 on a chance at winning a $500 TV can probably just go out any BUY the TV.
If all 25 people buy enough chips to enter the pool, thats about $1250. Now, for sake of argument, say on average people buy half the amount to add to their stack, or half the people buy the full amount, its still $625 give or take, and CP is pretty healthily in the black.
I happened to have some money kicking around in paypal and bought $20 worth of chips, just so I could enter the iPad pool, and other decent pools with minimal buyins, and I think thats pretty fair.
The iPad buyin was about 350 chips or so if I recall, which on conversion is about $5-$7. Considering the device retails for $500, thats a pretty logical bet. $5 for a shot at $500. Even though the pool was open ended for entrants, you could realistically expect about 50, no more than 100 buyins. I think it ended up being 48 or so.
This makes sense.
$50 for a shot at $500, does not.
Unless you have 3800+ in chips. Which you probably don't.
