(Yep. The flag thing again. Props: UFC)
By Anton Gurevich
Two weeks from now, UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre will look to defend his title for the sixth time, squaring off against Jake Shields at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The fight will headline the stacked UFC 129, which will also feature names such as Randy Couture, Lyoto Machida, Jose Aldo and Ben Henderson on the main card.
Many fans see St. Pierre’s fight against Jake Shields as only a hurdle before “the real thing” — an encounter with UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva, which has been labeled a “Superfight”, and potentially the biggest bout in Mixed Martial Arts history. Yes, there’s no doubt about how huge a fight between St. Pierre and Silva would be, but it definitely wouldn’t be the first “Superfight” in the French-Canadian’s career…

comments"GSP vs. Diaz, that is the superfight, not a sideshow like Silva vs. GSP."
wtf?? What planet do you live on that Diaz vs GSP is a bigger fight than Silva vs GSP?? I'm as big a Diaz fan as anyone, I love the guys style and attitude in the cage.. but he would be a massive underdog against gsp, kos, fitch, and any other ufc wrestlers. Two utterly dominant ufc champions fighting is a superfight dude, GSP vs Diaz is a regular title fight in comparison.
"How the HELL can GSP bring down Silva? Am I the only person on the planet who saw the Silva/Forrest Griffin Fight?"
Again.. WTF!? There are so many reasons not to compare GSP and Forrest I don't even know where to begin. Not to mentino Forrest did not attempt a single takedown.. not that he's known for takedowns anyway.
"At least in my mind, Shields is #2, below St. Pierre and above Anderson Silva..."
... I nearly spit my coffee on my keyboard. That article is either a clever bit of trolling or a the product of some serious delusions.
Do I feel like GSP has the ability to win? Yes. Do I think he will walk through Shields like he did Penn? No. GSP has failed to finish his last three opponents and giving that much time, I find it hard to imagine a scenario where Jake will be unable to get a hold of him at some point...
Y'all are tripping balls if you think Silva is some untakedownable demigod creature

Finally, who can beat Jon Jones? The answer is Anderson Silva.
Obviously the author of this article has never seen Jake Shields fight, and loses all credibility.
I'd rather see Silva and Jones punch each other a lot than see GSP try to lay on Silva the whole fight.
What are you talkin about dude. Silva TOTALLY said that he'd go up to 205 for the right fights. Anywho......I'd like to see either of the "super fights" mentioned. You're not a real fan if GSP/Silva, Silva/Bons, GSP/Diaz don't appeal to you (IMO).
Sadly I feel that this will be 25 minutes of "Who's the catcher?" with GSP doing most of the "pitching"....
nohomo
ok a little homo
DW has since back-tracked calling it more of a fan's dream, and even Big Nog recently hinted Silva might want to move up to 205 to fight Jon Jones (which if you remember before Jones' win, at the time of this superfight non-sense, Silva had no interest in moving up).
I'd much rather see a natural WW stay at WW.
GSP vs. Diaz, that is the superfight, not a sideshow like Silva vs. GSP.
