Odds makers and everyone on here is crazy. Rashad has gotta be the favorite! Up until Machida's last fight he has been criticized for being a decision master. He's a striker/decision master, the worst all fighters. Fighters who get decisions on "octagon control" aka acting like you are going to strike someone, but mostly dancing around and staying in the center of the ring more than the other guy. Then machida gets on KO and everyone is hailing him as the greatest LHW around.

Rashad was criticized for getting too many decisions. But he was a wrestler/decision master, which takes a ton more skill and control over your opponent. Machida will have difficulty in inching out a decision through octagon control against a wrestler like Rashad. Tito is no longer a wrestler with his bad back and knees, so don't point to him. He's a broken wrestler with subpar striking.
Rashad on the other hand is truly one of those fighters who drastically improves each time we see him. Which makes sense because he is from arguably the best camp in the world. He now ends most fight by TKO or KTFO! Shad is more than a wrestler, he is an athlete who has fought much higher quality opponents and won in a more decisive fashion. Machida has fought a bunch of pride washouts who don't have their juice. Rewatch Machida's fight against Sam Hoger and tell me what you think.

As for Rashad vs. Machida:
Rashad is a patient guy and will wait until he gets someones timing down before he really goes after them. That being said, he will never figure out Machida. I hate to call it this way but Machida wins unanimous decision via five round snore fest.

I hope rashad wins... i wanna see rashad vs rampage... sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. plus i'm worried that machida is gonna give out more boring fights...

We all know Rashad has skill and is relatively articulate ( for a fighter ) but that doesn't make him likeable. Case in point, GSP was becoming a cocky lil bastard before he got put to sleep by Serra, then when he realized he wasn't king shit anymore and could be beat, he chilled out and got down to actually being the best. Rashad thinks he is unbeatable to the point that he is cocky about it, and he'll continue to be this way till he looses, then he will realize his shit smells like everyone else's. Once he has learned this lesson he will lose the cockiness and will probably be more respected and liked. Then again, maybe he will just turn into another CBJ... only time will tell.

Ben(s) allow me to be the minority or at least one of the few big Rashad Evans fans on here to say I've got his back.

Rashad is going to win this. It's not going to be pretty but he'll pull it out. The closer and closer we get to fight night the more and more I think it might be one of the most boring first couple rounds ever but then it'll roll to a nice boil. Greg Jackson, like always, will find a chink in Machida's armor and Rashad will exploit it. We really don't know how heavy Machida's hands are.
