ix3623 is a ridiculously prolific editor of MMA/sports videos that are unmatched in their ability to waste large blocks of your time. While checking out ix’s new two-part "compilation of interesting mix martial arts facts" series today, we noticed the above tribute to sick knockouts at local shows, and it might be his most important work yet. First, a point of clarification: "amateur" here means "shot with a shitty camera." (We definitely recognized a few smaller pro leagues in the mix.) But that’s just a minor detail, because my goodness is this stuff hardcore. These are not TKO stoppages. This is nine and a half minutes of guys getting knocked dead-asleep in horrible fashion. - Toe curled, stiff-spined KO's are as pleasing to the eye of the viewer as they are damaging to the fine motor skills of the recipient.
- An altitude of five feet above the mat is probably as good a time as any to abandon the closed guard.
- A Fu Man Chu 'stache loses it's awesomeness when you're glass-eyed and slack jawed for more than fifteen seconds.
- If you clean up the audio and drop the soundtrack, I'm willing to bet you can hear somebody's mama scream "my baby, oh God he killed my baby!" at least once.
Not to mention it just looks cooler to walk away calm and cool than to drop 10 hammer fists on an unconscious man and then run around posturing and screaming.
