From MMA Scraps, here’s the video of Anderson Silva‘s boxing debut against Julio Cesar, which took place in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, on 8/6/05. Fight starts at the 10:02 remaining mark, and the inevitable TKO comes just two rounds later. Plus: Some showboatin’ footwork, extreme ring girl ass, and a cameo by the Nogueira brothers.

That was not Anderson Silva's debut.... he lost his debut to Osmar Teixeira... then waited several years and had that fight.... Silva only had 2 fights... he was 1-1 and neither fighter that he fought was above average.

I watched the boxing vid just for the "extreme ring girl ass" comment....definitely worth the watch, wish it lasted longer, but Brazilian girls never disappoint in the junk

he doesn't want to prove that he can beat RJJ. he wants to test himself against an artist like jones. i don't see why its hard for people to understand that.
the fact that no one really knows for sure how good or bad he would do is the entriging part.
if people only fought others that they knew they could beat 95% of all fights would really suck.

RJJ has a lot more experience and thus know-how when it comes to boxing and obviously it is silly for anyone, including Silva, to think that he could defeat him.

At the same time, just watching Anderson fight, whether it be MMA or boxing or muay thai, demonstrates uncanny technical ability that, with a lot of experience in a boxing arena, would lead to a very successful and lethal boxer.

Give him fifty pro boxing matches (win or loss) and he'd match Roy Jones easily.
