It seems like the trials and tribulations never end for Jay Hieron. The guy has had two different organizations pull fights out from under him, then he signs with Strikeforce in order to get a title shot against Nick Diaz, which he now can’t get due to Diaz’s, well, I’ll paraphrase Hieron here and call it "[monkeying] around."
Talking to Steve Cofield, you can hear the anger and frustration in Hieron’s voice as he wonders why Diaz can’t get off the weed and forget about this boxing pipe dream long enough to do the only feasible fight that makes sense at this point. Honestly, what is Diaz doing these days? I realize he’s probably on his own program, but how long can you do bong rips and watch reruns of "227" before you wake up one afternoon and realize that your best years are slipping away and you’re not making the most of them?
If anybody has suffered enough in this business, it’s Hieron. For Pete’s sake, Diaz, give the boy the fight. You’ve got the rest of your life to get high and [monkey] around.

"how long can you do bong rips and watch reruns of "227" before you wake up one afternoon and realize that your best years are slipping away and you're not making the most of them?" I'm 31 and it hasn't sunk in yet, but that's just one guy talking.

I wish Nick Diaz was a color commentator

just legalize it already and we wouldn't even be having this fucking problem! this shit makes me so sick! a plant. illegal. WTF?!
Sat, 10/03/09 - 11:39
let the man chill. diaz had the same problem with people fuckin around, pretty sure he left UFC for an organization that didnt fly, and then couldnt fight for the welterweight belt at Dream because of contract issues with EliteXC, which died shortly thereafter. everyone has rough times there jay budday. stop whinin

i understand jay's frustration cuse he wants to get paid but thats just it. Jay isnt that great of a fighter. He pretty much does it for a pay check and thats it. The guy would get dominated by Diaz anyway cuse Diaz is passionate about fighting even if he fails a drug test. THe difference between Jay and Diaz is that Jay shows up for the money, Diaz shows up to beat someones ass. With that said im still interested in seeing the fight should it ever take place

Nick, I smoke all day every day, but I don't fight for my living, and no state athletic commission is waiting to drug test me. Put it down homey, or retire!!
Sat, 10/03/09 - 12:37
First of all, "monkeying around"? Second of all, Diaz needs to give up on this boxing shit. No gogoplatas = No fun. Thirdly, "monkeying around"?

Are you serious Iron Clad? I am a huge Diaz fan and I'll still admit Jay is a damn good fighter, do you think the UFC would try to sign him (at their toughest division) if they thought he sucked? His only four losses are to dudes from the UFC and the one to Goulet was a cut. You obviously know nothing about Jay, he only shows up for the check? Dude shows up to support every guy that trains at Xtreme Couture when they fight, he lives and breathes MMA.

oh, and with that being said you're an inept retard
Sat, 10/03/09 - 04:45
you dickheads. nick diaz will beat the shit out of jay heiron, joe riggs, gegard mousasi, fedor, GSP, or ANYONE they wanna put in front of him. fuck you all. 209.
Sat, 10/03/09 - 05:52
Trying to sound gangster and saying 209 in posts is fucking hard. Diaz represents where he is from you don't need to. 503 I'm out.

Nick "Mas Puto" Diaz may have been a solid fighter a while ago, but his drug use history as well as his jackass choice to become a boxer for a promoter who belongs in the Smithsonian lead me to believe that he doesn't have a whole Hell of a lot to stand on now. All attention is being drawn to his cannabis use - legitimate or not. I strongly believe that cannabis should be legalized across the board, but as long as it's illegal, and as long as state athletic commissions aren't going to take a kind eye to fighters who toke up, then Nick Diaz has to stop bitching, put down the pipe, and play by their rules. If he wants to effect policy change and work not only towards decriminalization but legalization of cannabis, then Nick "Mas Puto" Diaz is not helping things one bit by acting like a cunt.

It's too bad Diaz is a stoner, because he's a tough scrapper with a lot of stamina and plenty of confidence. (He also seems semi-retarded, but that's beside the point.) Anyway, if Diaz could put down the hash pipe for a few months and fully dedicate himself to training, he'd beat Hieron.

thats is a top fight of the decade i think.diaz is one of the baddest for sure and heiron is definately worthy of this event. i mean really who else is there that diaz wouldnt destroy? i say make it happen but that chronic is some good shit.lol for god sake buy a whizzinator if you cant quit and find a way to cheat the thing.i mean its not hgh or any of that other shit every other cheating non integrity fighter is doing.and if you have a prescription shouldnt it be allowed?
