Call Nick Ring whatever you want; just don’t call him a loser when he won a fight.
In an interview conducted with the UFC middleweight this weekend, TopMMANews.com reporter Dean Panas asked Ring about his UFC 127 fight, insinuating that the unanimous decision victory over Riki Fukuda was an unjust one.
Ring didn’t take to kindly to the theory that he didn’t deserve to beat fellow UFC newcomer, Fukuda.
“Well, I thought that Riki Fukuda had a tough night. What elses do you want me to say? He was a current world champion fighting out of Deep Impact. Fighting at a high level these fights are hard to finish, right? So, whatever.”
When pressed by Panas to admit that it was a lot closer than the judges’ scorecards indicated, Ring seemed to get a bit perturbed.
“I actually haven’t even watched the fight, but the judges obviously gave me the first two rounds and they gave him the third round, so…I mean, it was a unanimous decision, you know? All three judges scored basically the same thing. I don’t know what you say about that, but it was, you know, it was unanimous…That’s why judges are there to judge and I’ll say they just did a pretty damn good job.”
Still, Panas persisted, pointing out that Ring was beaten up pretty good in the third round.
“Well, you go into fights, you take beatings,” Ring pointed out. “That’s part of it.”
Instead of moving on, Panas wouldn’t let it go, telling Ring that if he gets back in the Octagon and puts up an impressive win, the fans will forget about his “controversial” win. The sour facial expression on Ring (1:57) betrays how he really feels about the statement. Still his answer is level-headed, yet firm.
“Well, I’m not worried. This is what I do. I like to fight and you’re going to win some, you’re going to lose some. I mean, I got the win on that one, so I’m happy. I move on.”
Before signing off, Panas apologizes for pissing Ring off.
“Sorry for busting your balls on the controversy, but people did want to talk about it,” he explained.
“Okay. Thank you,” Ring replied, happy that the interview was over.

When you fags get done suck starting each other, perhaps we can go on.
You see, here at Cagepotato we have what's called a SENSE OF HUMOR.
If you don't think "Hay guise! This guy is a cawk smoker" is the absolute pinnacle of edgy humor, then you just have no sense of humor, it's over your head and you don't belong here. Fag.
(it's funny 'cos I used the word fag, that's funny, might be over your head though.)
I'm a homosexual, and I got into mma beacause it "is mostly men flexing their muscles in their underwear and then later grappling in tight spandex shorts", which I think is super awesome. I come to this site to catch up on mma news, and to look at gsp's greasy hairless body, but am disapointed to see so many people making funny jokes about my sexuality. Please stop becasue you are hurting my gay feelings.
Better get them a towel...
It's true, if you post it, they will come.
Although the Potato Nation tells it like it is. Don't lump the rest of us in with your childish immature ramblings about gay people.
"Nick Ring is a faggot ass-cleaner.
A rump ranger.
A salad-tosser.
A skin flute player....You dont have to be homophobic to see it, its just right there....so sorry we hurt your feelings about your gay lover, try another site maybe they will tell you how great he is"
I hope I am not the only one that reads this sort of childish playground vitriol and feels embarassed that people like this are speaking for this site and worst of all, speaking on behalf of the sport that we love.

MMA is mostly men flexing their muscles in their underwear and then later grappling in tight spandex shorts.

"I ain't no queer I just like watching half naked sweaty men grapple each other in glorious combat...oh and hot women shouldn't fight each other that sickens me"
