Scott Coker may not have asked for a war, but he’s getting one anyway. After a UFC 101 press conference yesterday, Dana White vented about Strikeforce’s recent signing of Fedor Emelianenko, telling reporters "They shoulda stayed the way they were. We’ll see what happens. You wanna fight me, we’re gonna fight. You know how that goes. And we know how it ends."

The counter-programming of Strikeforce begins on August 15th, as Spike will air their entire 100 Greatest Fights special to draw eyes away from "Carano vs. Cyborg."

On Fedor’s competitive prospects: "Who the fuck is he gonna fight? He’s gonna fight nobodies. The best fighters in the world fight the best three times a year…this guy hasn’t done that in years."

On Strikeforce: "[Fedor will] put ‘em out of business. They have no money. These guys have no money and they have no distribution. Four fuckin’ people watch Showtime. Their last fight they put on, you know how many people watched that fight? 245,000 people watched that fight…Cung Le hasn’t defended his title since like 1997, Josh Thomson hasn’t defended his title in something like two years…[Alistair Overeem] hasn’t defended his title in two years. Strikefarce. It’s a joke. It’s a tiny little regional show with nobody in it. It makes no sense."

On the UFC’s offer to Fedor: "I guarantee you, the deal that he got at Strikeforce isn’t even in the fuckin’ universe of what [we offered him]. The deal he got at Strikeforce probably isn’t even the deal that he had at Affliction. They have no money…People don’t know shit [about the UFC's negotiations with Fedor]. But he got offered a lot of money."
