Nover Suffers Seizure, Fight With Stout Scratched From Tonight’s Card

Phillipe Nover
(Get well soon, buddy.)

According to Dana White’s Twitter page, the Phillipe Nover-Sam Stout bout scheduled for tonight’s Spike TV UFC Fight Night event has been called off after Nover suffered a seizure backstage.  Nover is said to be doing fine now, and White stressed that Stout was "very cool" about the whole thing, but it’s still a hell of a blow to a couple of young fighters who no doubt worked hard to prepare for this night.  Nover was coming into this fight looking for his first official UFC win after a promising run on "The Ultimate Fighter," while Stout was trying to win two in a row for the first time in his UFC career.

You hate to see a bout called off for reasons like this, but at least Nover’s doing okay.  Hopefully this is nothing serious and these two will get a chance to go at it later on down the road.  Feel better, Phillipe.

People have siezures all of the time. You know all of those little muscle twitches that we all have... Yep, siezures. The big deal are the ones called Grand Mal Siezures. The kind grandma has unless she gets her insulin. Being a nurse, I'm sure they don't worry him; but, Dana scraps fights on a whim. Hope Philipe is alright, and Stout gets a tough fight very soon... Saturday night anyone?

My uncle used to have seizures like the before he beat up my grandma, but that was from all the gold paint he huffed.....
Seriously though, that's a little worrisome to see a fighter have a "seizure" ....

That sucks! I was really looking forward to his fight. Hope they say something soon about what caused that, though i'm sure it's just from overexertion.

Damn, that's a shame. Does Nover have some sort of serious neurological condition or something? Between fainting on TUF and a seizure tonight, you'd think he was suffering from the vapors or something. Hope he's all right.

Someone who gets seizures like Nover shouldn't be in a sport like MMA to begin with. It's a no brainer.

He is the feinting goat kid from TUF, right?

This was going to be one of the best fights on the card. Could have gone either way. Sad to see it go down like this. Best wishes to Phillipe.
