my prediction: carwin will get hurt. he is big and powerful, but that’s it. he will be easily overwhelmed by lesnar’s speed and aggression. brock has fought better fighters and will easily negate carwin’s ko power. brock will take him down when he pleases and easy grind out an ugly victory and an equally ugly viewing experience.

I like Carwin, I think he swings with bombs that can knock anyone out.
But to be honest, thats the only way he’s winning this fight, is with one of those.
Otherwise, Brock is going to eat him alive.
I’ve seen the guys fights. You say he can ward off Brocks takedowns? You’re crazy. Brock will take him down whenever he wants, and keep him there. Thats if he doesn’t knock Carwin out first.

I was looking forward to the Carwin/Cain fight as a build up for a Carwin/Lesnar fight, anda means to give Carwin more time to develop. Lesnar does have way more main event experience than Carwin, and I think that may be the decider in the fight. Both guys hit crazy heavy, and both will negate the other’s size advantage, so if it’s going to come down to who is more relaxed in the fight and able to execute better stand up accuracy then I reckon Lesnar will catch Carwin’s chin first. It’s also a good point that we’ve seen Carwin rocked a few times more than we have Lesnar.

*Carwin also trains in high altitude so he is a beastly man with very thin, oxygenated blood. I still cant wait.

Even if there was a huge difference, this is not college wrestling. Having 2 division champs in the octagon makes for a nice kickboxing match. Remember there’s wrestling, then there’s wrestling in MMA. I don’t either will be on the ground for very long. And neither of these guys have fought a guy the same size, except Carwin got close with Gonzaga. (and he was 250 for that fight as well.) I can’t wait. I’m pulling for a Carwin round 2 TKO, just so we can see Brock gas out.

Honestly, there isn’t a huge difference between D1 and D2 in college wrestling. Or D3 for that matter. If you win a national title, you are an animal. If you look it up on flowrestling.com theres a match between the #4 ranked guy at 149 from a Big10 school against the #6 guy from nebraska-kearney, a d2 school, and they went three overtime with the Nebraska Kearney wrestler winning. A lot of it has to do with, can you handle working out for hours a day, every day, all year. D1 wrestlers live and breathe wrestling, not academics or other things. D1 and D2 guys do.
One more example. USMMA’s 165lber this past year won the Academy games. The academy games includes all military academies regardless of division. he pinned his way to the finals i believe. so, i wouldn’t count too heavily against carwin’s wrestling ability.

I love “Official” heights… Bullshit Carwin is 6’3… I forget who it was but someone found some candid pics of Lesnar, Carwin and other UFC fighters side by side and yeah Carwin is not as tall as Brock… Just as capable of winning but I hate how fighters lie about their heights…

Both guys are giant monsters with heavy hands. Takedowns could very well be nullified with 2 solid wrestlers (otherwise I probably have to give the nod to Lesnar…) with decent boxing (but with plenty of openings).

Carwin is very dangerous… I’m surprised that the UFC is not making him fight Cain first (who, if Cain won, I think is a safer match up for their HW star, Lesnar).

This is an awesome fight and both guys do not want to end up on their back so it will be stand-up mostly. I say one of the 5xl’s of Carwin sneak right in between the 4xl’s of Lesnar and Bud Light will have the greatest commercial of Lesnar sleeping on their logo.

Carwin can easily knock out any heavyweight, and from what I know Lesnar’s chin is alright, perhaps somewhat unproven. Lesnar will want no part of Carwins standup, guy hits way to fuckin hard. Like phillytronik said, I see Lesnar going for the shoot early and getting KTFO for it. Either way Carwin will be able to keep this standing long enough to KO Lesnar.
