In our almost-daily update of fighters who were supposed to compete at Affliction: Trilogy…
— New UFC welterweight acquisition Paul "Semtex" Daley is expected to make his Octagon debut against H.I.T. Squad product Brian Foster (10-3) at UFC 103 (September 19th, Dallas), according to MMA Weekly. Foster is currently on a three-fight win streak, and eight of his ten career wins have come by first-round stoppage. UFC 103 will be headlined by Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfort, which will now be at a catchweight of 195 pounds.
— The featherweight bout between Mark Hominick and Deividas Taurosevicius that was supposed to be featured on the undercard of Affliction: Trilogy will now take place at WEC 43 (September 2; Youngstown, Ohio). Hominick is a UFC/TKO vet who most recently submitted Savant Young at Affliction: Banned last July, and holds victories over Yves Edwards and Jorge Gurgel. Taurosevicius is a Lithuanian IFL vet who hasn’t competed since a unanimous decision loss to Ryan Schultz last May. WEC 43 will be headlined by the interim lightweight title fight between Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone and Ben Henderson.
— Also slated for WEC 43: top-ten featherweight Wagnney Fabiano vs. Erik Koch, a 7-0 veteran of small midwestern promotions. The only explanation for this mismatch is that the WEC wants Fabiano to start destroying people before they set him up for a title shot. Because as long as Mike Brown and Jose Aldo keep putting on insane performances, nobody is going to care about poor Wagnney.
