i read it was because that this is an international show and that stars with a ppv percentage clause in their contracts do no like fighting on these shows. The international ppv’s never have good buy rates and that results in a loss of money for the fighter, i think if they want stars to start participating they are going to need to compensate them as if the fight was taking place in the US.

Also is this fight doesnt happen it looks as if the main event will be Wanderlei Silva vs. Rich Franklin.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that it’s time for the UFC to institute a mandatory defense clause in being a champion? If you don’t defend the belt within 12 months of winning it then the belt becomes vacant and the number one and two contenders face off for the title. Frank Mir was stripped of the HW belt because of a tragic motorcycle accident leaving him unable to defend, why is BJ here getting special treatment because he more or less doesn’t feel like defending the LW belt?

I’m a fan of BJ’s because of what he does in the ring/cage. Everything he does outside (unless he rapes/murders someone) doesn’t really mean anything to me.
If he fought in June, it would be about 5 months. Not 6. That’s not that long considering that he has to heal up (bc he did take a beating) and move back down in to lightweight. (not everyone is Diego “Stevia” Sanchez) Plus, he needs to be mentally prepared as well and this all takes time.

Now consider the fact that he has a new born that he wants to spend time with. If the UFC wants to strip him of the title, so be it. But let’s not call him a bitch for wanting to be a father.

I just can’t see Couture vs Fedor being a fair fight. Couture is still one of my favorites but I think him vs cro cop would be a better matched fight. both guys at the ending part of their careers, with something to prove.

Why, exactly, does the Garv think Kevin Iole is “such a credible source?” Iole admits that no one at the UFC has said anything to him about Couture fighting Fedor, and then goes on to insist that it could probably happen. His reasoning seems to be that A) UFC 100 is going to be big and B) Fedor-Couture would be the biggest fight imaginable, therefore C) Fedor-Couture will probably happen at UFC 100.
