Photo of the Day: Frankie Edgar Takes Being Pranked By Teammates Like a Champ

Frankie Edgar is one of the most easygoing, respectful and likeable fighters in the UFC, so it’s no wonder that he was able to laugh off a prank that was pulled on him by his teammates and a media outlet earlier this week.

According to “The Answer’s” Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach Ricardo Almeida, Yahoo! Sports orchestrated the stunt in which a phony repo man attempted to tow away the UFC lightweight champ’s BMW from the parking lot of Almeida’s school in South Jersey.

Edgar was a good sport about it, telling teammate and the club’s resident TUF jackass Akira Corassani that there were no hard feelings over the practical joke.

I have a feeling Frankie might be showing his teammates some “love” the next time they spar.

@The12ozCurls - I'd put big money on the repo guy anyday. He fights nightly with that fucking crowbar, and one could likely see the UFC 1 with multiple fights in one night.

Edgar on the other hand, fights at best twice a year.

@The12ozCurls. I'm with thomasrussell on this one. To think a trucker's big fat uncoordinated ass is gonna land with a crowbar on a guy who spends all day blocking and slipping shins and fists is just silly. I'm always shocked at how underestimated pro fighters are. No one is ever stupid enough to think they could hang with Tiger at golf or Lebron in basketball, but tons of dudes think they could somehow find an advantage in a physical confrontation with a fighter. It's no less silly a notion I can assure: there's not a guy in the UFC from 135 and up who wouldn't crush the average man. As per the usual course of this conversation you've now brought up firearms and I understand, but I'm just here to it's totally OK. Those guys can kick my ass too and everybody's on here; even those of us who train all the time. No big deal.

You don't strike me as the kind of person who would make a generalization like that without having the data to back it up is all I'm saying. Thanks.

Hey Almeida, we all know that elite MMA guys are great athletes capable of kicking the average joe's ass but you better not mess with repo guys or tow truck drivers because a tire iron to the head will put anybody on dream street. I seriously doubt that your average tow truck dude would have been worried. I mean, they drive a god damn tow truck for a living, do you think they actually give 2 shits if they crush your skull with a breaker bar.
