(Nah, he’s just sleepin’.)
Well, at least he attained the proper tags. None other than former UFC welterweight champion and avid hunting afficionado Matt Hughes tweeted this picture early today, which was taken on a recent hunting trip he made to the Midwest. After more than a few of his followers had something to say about it, Matt responded with the following tweet:

Now, I know many of you are probably up in arms over the fact that Hughes would kill such a cute, defenseless animal; one he won’t likely be eating to boot. But allow me to lay some knowledge on you real quick. Bobcats, like the one in the above photo, are nasty, viscous, opportunistic little assholes. They are kind of like the Joe Son’s of the animal world, if you will, so before you start spouting off about what an “ignorant redneck” Matt Hughes is, just take a moment and watch this video, in which a rabid Bobcat attacks people in a bar. Think that would suck? Check out this story about a 62 year old Vietnam vet who had to strangle one to death to stop it from attacking him. In both cases, the Bobcats had rabies. So suck on that, PETArds *snicker* of the world.
Coming off back-to-back losses knockout losses to B.J. Penn and Josh Koscheck, perhaps we will be seeing Hughes on one of those MSNBC hunting shows before we see him in the octagon. Then again, if Dan Hardy has his way, Hughes may be called off the range sooner than later. Speaking of the Brits, have any of you ever seen a British hunting show? I just stumbled across one, and as is the case with most British television, it’s kooky as shit. Check it out.

commentsactually, now you sound fairly logical and coherent.
natural predators do not always eat what they kill. From your house cat to wolves and lions...they have all been observed taking prey and not eating a bite. I see absolutely no need to justify killing legal game - livestock protection, food, pelts, or just for fun - it doesn't matter. If it bothers you, fine, say what you like - but don't get in the way.
And that has nothing to do with hunting.
p.s. seriously captcha? a triangle and the money sign for yen? you're just fucking with us now, aren't you captcha?
I re-read what I wrote earlier and I don't think I really made it clear that I don't give a shit if people hunt. I've never hunted, but I've eaten a shitload of meat that was grown on factory farms, which is an even worse treatment to animals. I don't really think people hunt because they are psychos or have small weiners, that was just a joke. I just would like guys like Matt Hughes to be honest and say that they get some enjoyment out of hunting. Or at the very least stop acting like it's some chore they are doing for the betterment of society.
And as far as the 'population control' argument goes, I think what most people see as an increase in population is actually the same number of animals being pushed closer and closer together due to urban sprawl. I seriously doubt there are that many species that have actually increased in numbers since the industrial revolution, unless they happen to be non-native invasive species that are introduced by humans.

@Jesus Frijoles - Well said and thank you for interjecting with your experience and rational thought.
Hunting for sport is plain ridiculous. To be proud of killing a cat with a gun is like being proud of throwing rocks off an overpass on oncoming traffic.
Tell you what, pro-hunters...let's designate areas in our countries for hunting. You go hunt for animals, and I come hunt for you. Fair is fair. How does that sound? Sounds fantastic to me.

@ ghostboner - well said.

@Rwilsonr You do realise that if plants/insects go extinct it may have an effect to certain mammal species? Just saying.
Also, i remember something about bee populations going down.
THAT does actually concern me, as i like to eat. And yes, i'm too lazy to look up for some link containing the subject.
