Pic of the Day: Josh Koscheck’s Eye 36 Hours After Having it Jabbed Into a Living Death by GSP

In case you missed the prognosis, Josh Gross from ESPN.com reported yesterday that Josh Koscheck had to be driven to Boston by his trainer "Crazy" Bob Cook sunday evening where he is scheduled today to have surgery today for a broken orbital bone he suffered during his five-round routing by welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre Saturday night in Montreal at UFC 124.


(At least Kos’ eye doesn’t look like the business end of a Fleshlight anymore.)



The normally cocky fighter who seemed humbled by the beating he took by GSP Saturday night spent was kept over night in the hospital and was ordered not to fly by doctors in Montreal after they detected an air pocket behind his eye that could have caused complications due to the increased pressure of being at a high altitude.

Freddie Roach wasn’t far off the mark when he said GSP would KO Koscheck with a left hook. It was a combination of St-Pierre’s left jab and smattering of short left hooks that caused the damage to Koscheck’s eye, and although he didn’t finish the American Kickboxing Academy fighter, he likely knocked him out of competition for at least the next six to eight months.

The only thing left to do for Koscheck or Fitch or anyone else at welterweight for that matter is to hope and pray GSP moves up to 185. I just don't see Shields being competitive, but who knows stranger things have happened, just ask Matt Serra.

The swelling occured rapidly between the end of round 1 and the start of round 2, is that when the bone was fractured? Or was it sometime during round 4 when Josh was unwilling to let the cutman ice his face?

How can you look at those beatdowns and get mad at GSP for not finishing? Those are brutal! And I bet BJ Penn's face would have looked just as bad as these two if they didn't just switch out his head with one from another cabbage patch doll immediately when he went back into the locker room.

The only time I was frustrated with GSP was when he refused to ground-and-pound Dan Hardy. He was constantly trying to finish by submission, but I thought he would be more successful if he would have beaten on Hardy's head a bit more. Still, he was trying to finish that fight, too.

Honestly when GSP puts on 5 round rape-fests like this i think that it would make people more timid to get in the cage with him. It'll be much less painful to get KO'd or sub'd in the 1st or 2nd then having your face jabbed and hooked into mashed taters.
So please stop complaining about how he doesn't finish, still quite entertaining... that is, imho.

PS: DANA WHITE PLEASE GIVE PAUL DALEY ANOTHER SHOT AT THE UFC's Welterweight division, if you keep his leash short he will do great things I think. And just know that im pretty sure most people wanna sucker punch Josh Koscheck especially all male nurses every where. and his momma

Wow. And people are still giving him shit for not finishing? Mulatto please. He broke the dudes orbital bone, swelled his eye shut, and put him on the shelf for 6-8 months. I'm sure Kos' legs are fucked too. I think this was better than Anderson Silvas last few performances.

And they say John fitch has GSP's number, fuck man his face probably has phantom pains ever time here hears GSP's name, like a dog who has been beat since a pup. That was a beaten that I enjoyed for sure now maybe Josh "Cocky" Koscheck will let that humble pie settle and he can move on with his career as a fighter and not a heel.
