Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Poll: Who Should GSP Fight Next?

(“First off, I’d like to thank my brother, Thor, for if he hadn’t transmitted the power of his hammer into my left hand, none of this would have been possible.” Photo courtesy of Getty Images.)

The UFC has never been an organization that takes pride in its subtlety. The same can be said about Dana White. So when they forced one of their cameramen to spend the entirety of the incredible GSP/Condit fight shooting Anderson Silva’s reactions (and Lyoto’s pedostache), you’d have to be pretty thick-skulled to not realize what they were angling at. However, GSP’s hesitance to commit to the fight, combined with Johny Hendricks’s brutal declaration of #1 contendership, have seemingly put a halt on these superfight rumors, if only temporarily.

In either case, we figured we would dedicate one post as the official battlegrounds for this debate, with you, the most distinguished and intelligent audience an MMA blog could ever ask for. So join us after the jump to vote on the poll that dares to ask: Who should Georges St. Pierre fight next now that he has successfully put the kibosh on this whole interim champ/actual champ nonsense? After you’ve finished voting, make your case in the comments section, using as much profane language, personal attacks, and outright trolling attempts as possible. Seriously, we kind of miss that stuff, so don’t get soft on us Taters.

I'm not going to break-down the many ways that GSP will be outmatched by Silva - I'm just too lazy. So I'll leave it with one point and one point only (because it's the only one needed): Even if they do a catch-weight, by the time GSP and Silva rehydrate, Silva will outweigh GSP by probably 20 - 25 pounds if not more. He's also got 4 inches in height on GSP.

Face the facts: That reality changes everything, such as GSP's ability to take Silva down (which, granted, he could probably pull off a few times) and more particularly, holding him down (which, granted, Silva isn't great at getting back up, generally speaking). Remember, in order to win, GSP would have to take Silva down within the first 10 - 15 seconds of all 5 rounds and hold him down for the next 4:45 of all 5 rounds in order to win (because who are we kidding, it's not like GSP is going to finish Silva on the ground). Although GSP took down Condit, he didn't do so that quickly; certainly not as quickly as Chael did in his first 6 rounds against Silva. On the other hand, Silva only needs one-half of a round to finish the undersized GSP.

They have weight divisions for a reason. So it is clear that GSP stands about a snowball's chance in Puerto Rico of beating Silva.

I'm just wasting my typing on this shit argument anyway because the fight won't happen. For superfight believers: Fixate on some other fantasy to fill the dark void in your miserable lives.

I'm not convinced that GSP-Diaz wont be the exact same fight as GSP-Condit. Why would it be any different?
Nippletwist- November 20, 2012 at 10:54 am
Condit should fight Kos like he was going to before, Kos wants that fight and should get it.

Hendricks or Diaz should get gsp next. or let Hendricks and Diaz fight for top contender if georges fights anderson.

I think nick vs gsp is the biggest best fight, that's really the most exciting matchup, that would probably break PPV records, EVERYONE wants to see georges and nick fight, if they don't fight it will be a huge missed opportunity for everyone.
RearNakedSpoon- November 21, 2012 at 12:32 pm
Good call on Condit vs Kos.
It seems like the fans have lost interest in a Silva superfight since Jones slipped into a championship belt and the 2nd spot of p4p rankings.

At least with GSP vs Diaz you have the former Strikeforce WW champion vs the current UFC WW champion (who just beat the former WEC champion), GSP want to beat the piss out of Diaz, Diaz gets angry at anyone he has to fight, some retards think Condit stole Diaz title's got everyone fired up no matter what angle you are looking form. Which is why it might just just as good if not better than a superfight.

Unoriginal name calling and unsupported opinions is what makes this site great.
Baghdad wins, cause he done called you a fucktard first.

Badgers? We don't need no stinking badgers!
cman- November 19, 2012 at 3:06 pm
I'd rather see Hendricks fight condit or Diaz.
GSP? Dunno, probably whoever Hendricks doesn't. Still not interested in the silva fight unless its a same day weigh in.
cman- November 19, 2012 at 3:03 pm
I'm very aware I'm the only one who is not on Hendricks nuts right now.
He does have power, and shocked everyone with it in the Fitch 'I'm going to entertain' fight, had kos whose very irrelevant go to a split, and KOs kampman who we all know will stand and trade to #1 status.
Dunno, seen this to many times or what but we get waaaay to excited about flask KO supa starz these days. Further 170 might be a weaker division than I thought if that's the indisputable #1. I remember seeing him show very little that wow'ed once that left was negated by Kos.

Everybody's pining for a new Iceman.
BaghdadBob- November 19, 2012 at 11:03 am
@vimxs1: you are fucking retarded or, if you prefer, a "fucktard". GSP stands no chance vs. Silva because of their size difference. Not that it matters because that cock-tease of a superfight will never happen. Try not to be so gullible.
Mr_Misanthropy- November 19, 2012 at 8:12 pm
Wow, you've really been taking this superfight thing seriously.
vimxs1- November 19, 2012 at 1:02 pm
You believe that Silva is just "too big" for GSP to take down? Or keep down once he takes him down? Defend your position that GSP stands no chance with something other than unoriginal name-calling, otherwise no one is likely to care about your opinion at all.
mDino- November 19, 2012 at 10:51 am
Thor's hammer has a name, and its MULNIR!
If GSP fights Hendricks he will jab, circle away and probably get the TD once Hendricks over commits to power shots. Is Hendricks even good off his back?
vimxs1- November 19, 2012 at 10:31 am
GSP will beat Anderson. He will be able to do everything that Sonnen did in the first fight against Silva only better. Condit is WAY better from the bottom than Silva, who won't threaten from there and won't be able to get out. His only prayer will be to knock GSP out before getting taken down.
The12ozCurls- November 19, 2012 at 10:25 am
The UFC and especially the UFC PRIMETIME/COUNTDOWN specials have tried time and time again to make GSP challengers look like they have a chance. They did it with Fitch and Hardy and Shields and Koscheck and Condit. They will do the same thing with Hendricks and the result will be similar to the previous = a unanimous decision for GSP. Hey, Condit was active from the bottom and he had the champ in big-time trouble in the 3rd, but other than that 1 answered prayer kick that landed (and the subsequent gNp) Condit was outclassed. As much as I want to see SILVA vs GSP - Hendricks then Diaz and by then The Waterboy is gonna be knocking on the door and one of them is gonna have to make a decision to move somewhere (ie up in weight for Rory or retire for GSP). Either that or GSP can just ride off into the sunset and fight diabetes or terrorism or metro-sexuality. Whatever he decides, he will be vitorious via unanimous decision. Up Yours Diabetes!
Jon Fitch and Exciting in the same sentence- November 19, 2012 at 10:14 am
I vote for Johny Hendricks. He's clearly the #1 WW contender at this point.

I don't think GSP has any interest in fighting Anderson. I think GSP knows that he will lose and probably be embarassed.

Nick Diaz should get a rematch with Condit. Or, Rory McDonald if he beats BJ. That would set up the next WW challenger.

And, make Condit vs Fitch.
Casa de los pantelones- November 19, 2012 at 10:01 am
Diaz would get hammered and destroyed. He has zero wrestling and he is not strong enough to use any bjj against St. Pierre as St. Pierre will be on top of him for practically the entire fight. And I don't even like GSP.

And Carmont looked like an absolute rookie turd. Whomever thinks that turd can stand with Silva is on some drugs that actually work, cuz you're delusional homey.
knucklesamitch- November 19, 2012 at 9:56 am
Oh, and Anderson Silva is a floor turd. Seriously, fuck that guy ... Right in his stupid face.
The12ozCurls- November 19, 2012 at 10:16 am
Much like "dicknailed" & "garbage ass" - "floor turd" is the new word added to CP thesaurus. *pats own back and wipes a tear from eye*
J.Jones- November 19, 2012 at 10:31 am
@12 oz - Don't forget "hooley-hoo punk-ass jabroni" said THE GUY WHO COINED IT. Also, it appears that "Dicknailed" is officially a word according to Urban Dictionary:
The12ozCurls- November 19, 2012 at 11:24 am
I apologize but I was afraid if I gave you credit, my comment would disappear. I thought that was the deal. If you praise JJ in the comment section, it NEVER shows up. Right?
RearNakedSpoon- November 19, 2012 at 9:56 am
My predicted WW title contender progression:
Hendricks > Diaz > Ellenberger > Maia > MacDonald > Fitch > Ebersole > Erick Silva

My predicted MW title contender progression:
Weidman > Belcher > Boetsch > Bisping > Carmont

If Trisat's Carmont gets to GSP/MacDonald's level then him vs Silva would be the fight everyone wants, apart from Silva because Carmont has a 1 inch height and reach advantage. I'm excited for that one already :P
knucklesamitch- November 19, 2012 at 9:55 am
Hendricks deserves the shot. I will not try to make an argument about how he will beat GSP, or he's better than GSP, or anything of the sort, but given his run in the UFC, and the competition he's faced in his last few shots, he clearly deserves a shot at GSP.
shatterproof- November 19, 2012 at 9:45 am
Diaz is the biggest threat to GSP at 170 out there. His style is one that could give George real problems. That is, unless Silva drops to 170 to make it happen. In that case, all the power to him and i hope they make the fight. Enough of the catch weight nonsense though, if silva wants to call George out, drop down or STFU already.
RearNakedSpoon- November 19, 2012 at 9:30 am
Hendrick or Diaz. I don't get how people think GSP was better than ever, maybe they just liked that he got bruised and cut. If it was the best/old GSP then Condit would have eaten more punch's and had less reversals (regaining guard and getting GSP on his back). Next fight we should see the best GSP ever which Silva will then refuse to fight.

If Silva wants to fight GSP he has to at least set the example and fight Jones first, then call out GSP like... "well I just fought the champion above my division, why can't you?" Otherwise he is just a pussy calling out the smaller guy.
Or he could make the weight cut to 170, Condit looked bigger than ever and is Silva's size, so he should be able to make it to 170 if he really wants the fight bad enough.

Just for you CP, Anderson is a fat bitch who needs some Dolce in his life.
RwilsonR- November 19, 2012 at 9:27 am
Diabetes? I'm pretty sure that guy's a heavyweight.
