Randy is 2-2 against bigger heavyweights (lost to Barnett and Rodriguez, and dominated Sylvia and Gonzaga). Randy of 2002 was a completely different fighter than Randy of 2008. The present-day Randy is light years ahead of the Randy of six years ago. Put the current Randy against Ricco six years ago, and Randy would TKO him in the 2nd round, and I think he'd give Barnett a run for his money, if not beat him.
If Couture-Lesnar actually happens, I'm calling it for Couture by either 2nd or 3rd round TKO or by UD.

you people are crazy. I am a big Randy fan, but even i will admit lesnar is going to be to much for him. He is bigger sronger and faster than cotoure. Randy doesnt do that great against heavyweights that are far bigger than him. Randy will prob come in maybe weighing 240 and lesnar will be around 285. That is a huge difference. Lesnar by tko first round. Loooks like the UFC is feeding randy to the wolves. oh and this should technicaly make lesnar champ rite. Nougueria never actually had the real belt.

I had to comment that Matt Hammil is at the level of Rich Franklin! I think he has a good chance at beating Franklin; then it's back to teaching HS for Franklin. Hamil is a little slower on his feet but he will resort to the ground and will dominate Franklin on the ground. Noone at 205 can outwrestle Hamil including that idiot TITO!

Ima put $100 bucks on Lesnar and win $400-$500! I know that while Randy is crafty and a gamesman, he cannot handle Lesnar's wrestling power. I want nothing more than for Randy to stomp Lesnar; however, I think the UFC wants to take away Randy's luster and this is why they are putting him up against the ass hole beast lesnar!

you know, i really think that Frank Mir was suppose to be Brock's Can but he got lucky w/ Lesnars inexperience, You can tell the UFC thought Brock would just KO Mir.

If you look at some of Mir's fight before, he really sucked it up, No stand up what so ever.

Not particularily, and Brock is partly to blame for his extremely tough tests to start his UFC career since he asked for it. But just about everyone is thrown tomato cans for at least their first 5 fights, including boxers, just to give them some confidence and experience and to start building a name. Heck Tyson had about 20 tomato cans before he fought anyone of note. So for that the haters should respect Brock for that if nothing else. But seriously? Randy F'N Couture for anyone's 4th fight is ridiculous. He should be fighting the Antoni Hardonks and Eddie Sanchez's of the world at this stage. Even tho he would destroy those guys, they would still give him some much needed experience to face a Couture.

His power advantage is major over his past opponents, and will be in the case of Couture. Brock does know how to use his strength, so giving him tough intelligent fighters will temper him as an MMA fighter and give him tough earned experience he needs to really shine.

Would you prefer they do with Brock that EliteXC is doing with Kimbo? I'd honestly rather see a popular name get into tough fights, because they will be fun to see, rather than seeing a 5000 year old can drop in the first round.

I also feel bad for Lesnar. I am a Brock supporter amongst many haters but you gotta admit he gets thrown to the wolves every time he fights - and he won last time. I don't think he can beat Couture unless he lands a couple haymakers but he will still have my respect either way just for stepping up to these challenges. I'm sure he will put up a helluva fight though. The thing I hate the most is when people say that he has no skills - of course he doesn't! He's only been fighting for a short period of time. I bet he still does a lot better than Sylia or Gonzaga and that's why I like him, he's got a chance just by stepping in the ring. And that's why everyone will be watching when this goes down.

lesnar would not too well against a wrestler of randys caliber. i think randys brittle bones could be broken (like during gonzaga) if he stands with lesnar. randy can take lesnar down and control him. his wrestling technique is better. then he will celebrate by beating fedor and then rape fedors grandma while shes in the shower.

Man. Lesnar vs. Couture. =( My golden boy may just get owned pretty damn hard but I am still pulling for him. I am willing to bet that he would be the supreme underdog in that fight and if you bet on Lesnar and he won....you'd be a happy fella.

Geez the UFC must really hate Lesnar. All his fights are either against ex champs or almost #1 contenders with infinite more experience and years of MMA training than Brock.

Randy will have to keep it standing with Brock to win. Sure Randy's wrestling is probably equal to Brock's but there is no way he has Brock's power. He will surely end on his back more often than not and lose on the scorecards. It would still be a huge upset for Brock but a feasible one.

I don't see this scenario happening since if Brock did win the Fedor/Randy fight probably wouldn't happen. Sure a Brock/Fedor fight would be huge numbers but they could eventually have that fight down the road anyways after the equally huge Randy/Fedor fight. I guess they would be banking on a Randy win over Brock, then all 3 fights could happen instead of just 2 big fights. ie.

Best scenario:
Randy/Brock - Randy wins then you get Randy/Fedor and eventually Brock/Fedor
or
Randy/Brock - Brock wins then you probably only get Brock/Fedor, tho I guess they could call the Brock win a fluke and still do the Randy/Fedor fight

I know there are a lot of Brock haters but his PPV numbers speak for themselves and that's all the UFC really cares about. They are a big time corporation now.

omfg! well randy imo will get an easy win against lesnar, as strong as lesnar is, randy made gonzaga and tim silvia look like babys. everyone knows fedor will kill randy tho. but i think if fedor lost against randy in the cage it would be the most amazing turn of events ive ever seen. i would pay about 60 bucks for that one.
