If the fight between Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is half as intense as their pre-fight bickering has been, we’re in for a hell of a fight Saturday night. Let’s just hope both guys save some of their energy for the Octagon.
During today’s conference call ahead of the May 29 event in Las Vegas, the pair who really do seem to hate each other, got into it again and after arguing for more than five minutes had to be cut off by UFC president Dana White. The funny thing was, as incoherent as their argument got at times, it still made more sense than Franklin McNeil (who was the reporter who asked the original question in the clip) makes 99 percent of the time.

Evans doesn't HATE Rampage. I believe what he was quoted as saying was something like: No, I don't hate him. He's got more qualities that I dislike than qualities I like. I guess I just dislike him. Evans was incredibly reasonable about the whole thing. Still, I hope, for the sake of all LA pedestrians, that Rampage wins. I would LOVE to see Evans K him TFO, though. 'Page is batshit crazy and, in my estimation, he's taken a dark turn. It's no longer 'fun crazy' like Diego Sanchez or even A. Silva. It's 'crazy crazy' like Harold Howard - somebody that, at times, is so out of touch with reality, he's capable of doing really horrible things. That's not my idea of a good martial artist. Maybe its just me, but I don't see Greg Jackson sitting around in the fighter room going, "Yeah Rashad we want you to go out and trade punches with rampage." Rashad might be a prick, but hes not stupid and hes going to do what he needs to to win this one. I think he learned his lesson from the how taste my own pee-pee stanky-leg incident. Call me crazy.

Rashad by Unanimous Decision. Ground control, minimal damage. I actually don't care who wins, I just want to see a spectacular knockout. Rampage has 6 fights left, and doesn't want to even fight anymore. I can see him pulling a Paul Daley.

Hmmm. I see Rashad standing/dancing long enough to see if he can land effective leg kicks and testing his speed agains Rampage's heavy hands and combos. Failing that, as soon as 'Page finds his rhythm, it's going down to the mat, if he can manage it. Holding Rampage down is no easy task, though. It's a pretty cool fight on paper.

I hope the ref has a taser and they get a couple extra of those red shirted goons. If Rashad wins a boring lay and pray decision I can almost guarantee another Rampage. Throw that dude in a cage and shoot him up with some tranquilizers for everybody's safety, let him out somewhere in the wilds of Africa after a few weeks pass.
