Rashad Evans Is Immortal!!!

(Looks like things are about to get rough for digital Forrest.)

Rashad Evans is really excited about being in the UFC 2009 Undisputed video game.  Maybe part of it is because they released some nice little screen shots showing him getting his dominate on against Forrest Griffin, or maybe he just wanted to seem extra-enthusiastic so as not to risk a Jon Fitch-like predicament at any point in the future.

Either way, check out what Evans had to say to about what being in the game means to him:

"I never thought I’d be in a videogame, and I’m happy about that. To be a part of the whole organization and to be a part of the videogame, that’s my immortality right there. I may die next year, or in the next couple of days or whatever, but I’ll always be in that videogame."

Whoa, take it easy.  I can understand being pretty pumped about having your mug in a video game (the closest I ever came was making a character who looked kind of almost like me in the old Pride game – he specialized in Thug Jitsu, naturally), but it does not make you immortal.  I mean, look at Danny Sullivan, of Danny Sullivan’s Indy Heat.  He’s not immortal, and it was his game!  You’re a character in the game, and even Doink the Clown can say that.

To be honest, though, the screenshots do look pretty sweet, so I can almost understand why Evans is so happy he thinks he can die now.  Check out  a couple more after the jump.  Looks like the THQ people see Forrest spending a lot of time on his back at UFC 92.

EA is a publisher and a developer, just like Sony and many other companies.

I hope there is a dedicated button specificly for the kimora. That way it might be used as much as Joe Rogan thinks it will be used in real matches.

To all the EA fanboys:

EA doesn't MAKE games they just publish them. Developers MAKE the games. IGN has nothing to do with this game other than doing the preview since IGN is neither a PUBLISHER nor a DEVELOPER.

I dont know what "fightning" is but i would much rather trust THQ that has made decent WWE and Pride FC fighting games (there is said it again). Than leave it in the hands of a design team that hasnt ever had a sucessful fighting game.

it's coming out in late May of 09.

and that's just too far away..

When i finally get the chance to play it i'll probably cream myself.. which means i'll have to go clean up and maybe get a fresh change of pants, so i'll have to wait even longer..

Pride fc Vid Game- December 20, 2008 at 11:13 am
THQ by far made the best mma game ever with Pride fc game. The ground mechanics in that game was the shit!!!! And the create your own fighter being able to link up 6 hit combos was insane!

That game was made in 04' for PS2 and my friends and I still play it!

P.S. the graphics look good

Dont EVER put "WWE" and "decent fightning" together again...or I'll kick your dog!
Tapout34- December 20, 2008 at 12:10 am
THQ is the company that is designing the game. The are the ones that make all the WWE games. They seem to have a decent fighting system in those it seems.

one mooorree thing

EA Sports makes the best sports games by far, i bet the UFC tried to get with them and dana white made a mess of it
nippletwist- December 19, 2008 at 8:08 pm
oh and early predictions on the next t-shirt winner, BM2 for his comment here

and also this game better have a create your own character career mode thing that would be fucking sick
nippletwist- December 19, 2008 at 8:06 pm
what if rashad evans does die now? or if he beats forrest griffin and then dies? he would die an undefeated champion. he would be a legend of the sport.

If tweaking the nipples isn't an option then I am not buying it. I already planned to boycott the game since ZUFFA is giving the fighters the shaft on this game. Being able to tweak nipples before a fight is the only thing that will make me change mind.

the game looks pretty good, but the movements seem stiff
Laserline- December 19, 2008 at 4:37 pm
If this game is truly realistic then before each fight Rashad will tweak his nipples and after the fight the soundtrack has to include his screaming wife who I swear is the black sister of the banshee from pride.

da graphics doesn't look too good. plus i dont realli lik ign also. i hope wen ufc makes another game, they'll sign with ea sports if possible because da graphics on da games (nba live 09) are insane! but yea, dats what i think.

Question, if andrei arlovski was in the game. would he be with a shit lot of hair all over his body or all shaved ?
he's a fucking russian bear.

Is there a street date for this game yet? I got my 360 and 37" HDTV just waiting.. there is only so much COD5 I can play!
Xamot- December 19, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I wish they would explain how the ground game dynamics are going to work for this game.. I can't even wrap my head around translating the complexity of grappling and ground fighting through a dualshock analog controller.

Obviously for the stand-up it should play like Fight Night with kicks, knees, elbows, and takedowns added, but the grappling is a mystery.

As long as I keep chopping people's head off and storing them in the hidden room built within my house. I shall be immortal. I started doing this about 6 months ago, and guess what it's working, I've stayed 24 years old for the past 6 months!

Thank you Duncan McCloud, may future generations learn of your ways.
BM2- December 19, 2008 at 3:45 pm
I never thought I'd be in a Cage Potato comment, and I'm happy about that. To be a part of the whole Cage Potato and to be a part of the comments, that's my immortality right there. I may die next year, or in the next couple of days or whatever, but I'll always be in that comment.
Justin- December 19, 2008 at 3:33 pm
If this game doesn't hurry up and get released then I'm going to chop my nuts off with my PS3 controller because right now that's all it's good for.
