I’m really sick of people crying about showboating during a fight. He wasn’t being disrespectful he was getting himself pumped up while at the same time saying to forrest “you just gave me all you got and I took it now bring it because I’m not backing down”. It’s the same as Lawler screaming and flexing at Lytle after taking a punch, or Diaz throwing his hands up in the air while he’s striking with his opponent. It’s called being game, it pumps up the fighters and the crowd and makes for better fights. Would you prefer Rashad just cowered against the cage like a scared child after taking Forrests’ assault? You’re watching two guys locked in a cage trying to tear eachother apart and you cry about a little gameness. Give me a break with the “real fans” this and “true fans” that, speak for yourself not everyone. I like seeing stuff like that becasue it shows they aren’t afraid and they showed up to fight.. it’s a show of heart and determination.

If a guy acts like that outside of the fight it’s one thing, but when you’re locked in a cage with another guy engaging in hand to hand combat anything goes as long as it’s within the rules.

Also, please don’t compare Junie to Rashad… or anyone for that matter. Rashad is game, Junie is just a jackass.

I still like Rashad alot. I think he showed a couple positive things in that fight and the same Rashad could have beaten just about any other person in the LHW division that night.

I hope Rashad realizes that this loss doesn’t mean the end of his career, or that it’s highest point is behind him. He has only ONE loss, and it’s to Machida. His next fight is another huge one for him, and a win could mean he gets a chance to win the belt back. Rashad was supposed to be a snack for the Iceman but instead he went on to be a main event fighter and title contender, and that happened in a very short span of time comparatively. I hope he makes like GSP and comes back even better after his loss.

Rasah is man enough to admit he got an ass whoopin, just be man enough to admit that Lyoto hits hard as fuck…cuse he does odviously.

Looking back at the fight, that shot did shut him up, but it wasn’t until a few more shots later that a left hook knocked him out cold.

I thought that’s what had happened, because he was talking shit and his mouth was open, that’s why he got knocked out so hardcore.

we like the sport, and the evolution of it , we dont like ungratious cocky bastards who try to get attention by being off the wall arrogant assholes…. guys like Juni and his brother, or the never give it a rest whinning (BJ), or the duoche who goes into the casino yelling at people being drunk and kicking windows out of limos….. however talented they appear.

thats why Couture is so popular, even though he had his run-ins and bouts of discontentment, everytime he fights he fights hard, and in winning or loseing, he always shows what a class act truly is.

Rashad has some talent, he just needs to not be a douche sometimes

i didn’t like rashad up until i saw this interview. doesn’t seem like he is making excuses at all and is humble enough to admit he was talking shit as he got knocked out. maybe i haven’t seen a lot of his interviews but this seems like a new rashad, a humble one perhaps. poor guy, he seems so sad. o well, who cares? trigg is back boyeeee!!

It seems like Rashad is taking the loss in stride and very informative talk about being KO’d but still awake in your head sounds like an out of body experience almost. I think like Griffin this loss should improve his game and mindset for future fights. Will Griffin or Evans ever get the belt back I have my doubts. I’m hoping Ken-flo can be the first TUF to make the 1st successful belt defense for TUF vets.

For every fighter who shows some class and humility in defeat, like Rashad did and does, there are those who bitch and moan and show no respect for the other guy and never accept they were beaten. That makes the “fight game” pretty entertaining too.

I don’t think these posts are hurting anyone’s feelings. Lighten up.

You seem to be one of the level headed people that post here as of late, and I completely agree with you. Everyone else talkin shit here doesn’t seem to understand how difficult it is to remain undefeated before and up until you become the champion, especially in the LHW division. People are still hatin on this dude from the TUF show, when their cousin on their sisters side through marriage, said that Evans was a showboater. Stop living on someone elses opinion of a fighter, and give this dude props for what he accomplished. Dana White, and just about all of the other fighters in the UFC have, so what keeps you haters hating????

That was a great interview and props to Rashad for his candid comments about the downside of the fight game. It is reassuring to fighters stand up after losses, dust themselves off and get back into the game at a high level. This is why I like fighters and the fight game. The way he is handling the defeat (at least in this video) shows real class and character.

I wish I could say the same for some of the people who posted comments on this board.

Even if Machida does not hit as hard, he hits faster and with more precision. In the end he does more damage per second and does not need to rely on a “punchers chance” to win.

I could see him getting his ass kicked everyday, or at least regularly, in practice. He’s an Ok fighter, but that’s it. He doesn’t exactly have many tools. He will however connect every now and then and do some damage (Chuck).

WTF was he doing to his leg? Can we get a version of the interview where he doesn’t molest himself?

Idiots: He’s making fun of himself. He was thinking Machida doesn’t hit hard and now acknowledges what a dumb thought that was. If you asked him today if Machida hits hard, I’m certain he’d say yes. You guys need to let up on him. He’s very gracious in defeat — both right after the fight and even now.

You can be knocked out from successive shots to the head just as easily as one BIG one to the jaw.

SO, in theory … he could be telling the truth.

My money says Lyoto could still hit plenty hard to knock you out the old fashion way though.
