Reminder: Get Your Votes in for This Year’s Fighters Only World MMA Awards by Friday

(Meathead’s impartial reminder for you to get your votes in.)

Even though we were conspicuously absent from the ballot again, we’re still going to do our friends at Fighters Only Magazine a solid by reminding The Potato Nation to vote for your other favorites who were nominated for this year’s 2011 Fighters Only World MMA Awards.

For all of the readers who pine over your old dad who left you to be raised by mom and your *new* dad, even though he doesn’t write or call, you can vote for Ben Fowlkes in the MMA Journalist of the Year category.

Other than that, there are probably a few brands and names in there that you support.

With Chael Sonnen hosting the event, things could get interesting, especially when it comes time for him to do the rumored dance number with Black House.

Check out the categories and nominees below.

What a bunch of stupid bullshit to have to read through. Only a peon tries to condense 12 months into roughly 20 categories - and call them the best.
.
If you submit or cast your vote, your as big as a sell out - as those fuckers who sign the UFC's fighter contract, on Zuffas' terms!

Damn no edit button grunt grunt...
Seriosuly, how epic would it be if a brawl break out on stage?
SnackDaddy- November 24, 2011 at 9:33 pm
I'd love to either of Machida or Silva front kick the host into coma.

So, uh, "international" now means "European"? When did this happen?
It is so hard to keep up with increasingly vague politically correct terminology. I haven't been this confused since "Oriental" was switched to "Asian."
Apparently the less specific and accurate the term, the less offensive it is.
TARDO Ortiz- November 23, 2011 at 10:47 pm
Brazilian fighters are not considered "international" fighters now? How can there not be at least one listed??? There needs to be a MOMENT of the year. I can think of a ton of worthy mentions that are ignored on this here list.

So will Chael actually be on stage w/ Anderson Silva then? I mean it's basically inevitable since Anderson's a shoe-in for 1 of the 2 awards he's nominated for.(best ko (*cause only Machida's is comparable in awesomeness and Anderson's is better*)
Gonna be a must watch for me now.
Can somebody give me the over-under on the probability that they (Sonnen/Silva) scrap on-stage?
Is this gonna be live?
Last question: ahh fuck it WAR SONNEN!

WTF, Mayhem's ring entrance and Joe Warren's comeback were in September of 2010, before last years awards were held. I wonder how many awards Dana will win this year?
Lesnarischamp- November 23, 2011 at 8:34 pm
after the two big fights this past weekend, that's a pretty weak contender list for fight of the year.
RearNakedSpoon- November 23, 2011 at 7:03 pm
Did Edgar vs Maynard III miss the deadline to make the KO list? Surprisingly mundane candidates for most of the categories, at least Chael presenting them will spice it up a little.

This is pretty laughable. Lifestyle clothing of the year award?
Now we're scraping the bottom for categories.
NomadRip- November 23, 2011 at 6:00 pm
Got my votes in. Couldn't write you in, even if I'd wanted to.

At the very least, it was a good reminder of all the great action we've seen so far this year. It was probably too late to add it, but it would have been nice to have the Hendo/Shogun fight on there for fight of the year...cuz it was. I comforted myself with a vote for Ms. Palmer for best ring girl. I wondering if she'll thank me in her acceptance speech...
