This concern about BJJ and uneducated fans makes me think of UFC 1. I knew of BJJ from the Machado lineage but my father was a trip calling the entire event "Chokey-do"

After listening to the end, its apparent the the UFC has been out-Foxed, by the Fox. First Fox picks up the sample pulse from the Pacquiao...to see what that the drain from boxing (post Mayweather) will be.
.
Also, the contract is not official until 2012 - which means if Fox is not seeing what they bought into...Fox can force a contract re-negotiation.
.
One, surely no money at this junction has changed hands, so the UFC is cash strapped - and is likely losing at least another $16M on this one fight alone.
.
Two, no matter if the UFC is flop or a hit (most likely) Fox can still force a behind the scenes renegotiation of terms...as the UFC has no where else to run to in a pinch now that Spike is soured.
.
I don't think the Zuffa - UFC has thought through just how monolithic Fox is when they decide the didn't get the upper hand, or their way.
.
Doubters, then ask yourself do you think Fox will be so pleased they they offer the UFC even more money, NOT. Its a one-way street. He who controls the network, not the content is King.

Well...this is the beginning of the end of boxing dominating the pugilist interests. For those die-hards, the new generation of the youth for the most part only know MMA.
.
With some luck, this event will squash the dissent coming from places like New York over MMA being too brutal to broadcast. The flip side is war coverage that the nation has witnessed for the past 10 years is far more polarizing for most.
.
All money is on JDS

@ Shifty - I was thinking the same thing. Junior's looks like it was either a recent break, or wasn't set right.

Is it just me or does that poster make it look like Cain's nose is broken to the left and Dos Santo's i broken to the right?

Anyone who bitchs about Dana white is one of two things, part of the potatonation or someone he said no to for tickets because dude cuts so many people so much slack.
Shifty-Eyed Dog- November 9, 2011 at 1:43 pm
They really need to STOP taking fan questions. It's just embarrassing and makes UFC fans out to be idiots.
Not to mention the shameless begging for tickets, freebies, etc...
