(Don’t fear Arona. Fear his freaking cat-like reflexes.)
Hey there, people who have been following MMA for more than just the last six months, remember Ricardo Arona? Muscular Brazilian guy, had a rivalry with Wanderlei Silva, got knocked out by Sokoudjou…any of this ringing any bells? Well now that Dana White has more or less ruled out any possibility of signing Arona to the UFC because, hell, even Dana thinks he can beat Arona, the big man is looking at making a return to action soon, possibly in Strikeforce.
Before you go and get all excited you should know there’s nothing signed yet, but Arona feels like he’s had enough time off and with the UFC clearly not interested Strikeforce has a great opportunity to pick him up cheap. With guys like Renato Sobral, Kevin Randleman, and (maybe) Tito Ortiz running around looking for fights in the light heavyweight division, it makes good sense.
And don’t worry, Arona’s delicate ego doesn’t seem to have been damaged by White’s criticism:
“This critique doesn’t matter at all because we are what we do. I have already proved out that I can be champion and hold a belt. I was champion many times. This critique doesn’t hit me at all.”
Thataway, Ricardo. Keep your chin up (except for when you’re fighting). Just for fun though, why not suggest that Dana go ahead and back up his talk in the cage? Tom Atencio would…

Arona is making a return and fighting Marvin Eastmen in Brazil on Sept. 12th.
After he gets down clowning Marvin maybe he’ll end up in Strikeforce.
