Robert Burneika’s MMA Debut Was Even Shittier Than Expected [VIDEO]


(Damn. Even Tank Abbott is embarrassed by that garbage.)

You may recall Robert Burneika, the Lithuanian strongman who had been preparing for his MMA debut mostly by high-kicking watermelons. Becoming the next Mariusz Pudzianowski is a questionable goal to shoot for, but Burneika took the first step Friday night at MMA ATTACK 2 in Katowice, Poland, by scoring a second-round stoppage over Polish tomato can Marcin Najman, who also happened to be Pudz’s first MMA victim. We kept our expectations low for this matchup, and the fight still fell short, for two main reasons:

- The way Burneika lunges forward with those front kicks suggests that he may not have had a legit Muay Thai coach in his camp.

- Najman spent the entire fight running in circles to avoid engaging, which gave the match an unfortunate Kimbo/Houston vibe. In five-and-a-half minutes of fight time, Najman threw less than ten strikes. I think it’s safe to say that he respected Burneika’s power a little too much.

Let's be honest. You can't call Burneika a fighter cause he didn't call himself that way. In Poland we all know that it was kind of freak show and we didn't expect to see real fight especially coouse Najman is pretending to be a ex boxer and Burneika is more like funny guy who agreed make a show with really dumb guy. He said right after fight that it was for fun and we shouldn't expect him to fight with another guy in MMA, he said that he's got more important things to do than smashing each other faces with some fighters and that he need to spend some time on boodybuilding again :) So simply speaking: it was a freak show, he didn't train for fight, he's not going to fight again. You should focus more on the Damian Grabowski fight, that was class

1/ That was a show, not a fight. Just like wrestling.
2/ That wasn't MMA fight, only fight with MMA rules, organised to attract audience. MMA is not such popular in Poland as in US.
3/ Burneika isn't strongman, he's a pro bodybuilder.
4/ Burneika's training whitch you could seen on youtube was made just for fun, a joke, but I see that you get it all serious.
5/ Burneika didn't prepared for this "fight" at all. If you would know Polish and heard his statement to the raporter after "fight", you would know this.

My personal favourite part is at 2:06 where the shithead producers cut away real quick, just in case their glamour boy takes a couple of good strikes. Can't wait for the term "superfight" to be ass-raped when he fights Pudz!

In post fight interview Burneika stated that he didn't train at all for the fight afraid of losing his muscles. He also said that he wil never compete again in MMA and bouduilding is his sport.

I think he should stick to running with the Husafell Stone in his arms and chucking full kegs over a wall. BTW, did Burneika just do the Arsenio Hall "woo woo woo" dogpound fist pump after he won the fight at the 8:20 mark? This is magical.
