(Unfortunately the beating wasn’t the worst thing to come out of UFC 95 for Mandaloniz. Photo courtesy of MMA Weekly.)
According to BJPenn.com, Troy “Rude Boy” Mandaloniz has been cut from the UFC following the decision loss to Paul Kelly that left the Hawaiian’s face looking like an impressionist painting that had been left out in the rain. While we’re not terribly surprised to see a guy who is 3-2 in his career and 1-1 in the UFC (with the lone win coming against Richie Hightower) cut from the big leagues, he seems fairly shocked.
"I thought I showed them what I was made of, but I guess not. I don’ think I see too many other fighters out there fighting with the same passion and intensity that I bring. I’m a fighter that people want to see fight and maybe one day after I prove myself again I could be back in the UFC.”
Rude Boy apparently learned he had been cut via email (sure it wasn’t a text message to someone else in the camp?), which seems kind of cold. They couldn’t even pick up the phone and call him?
Maybe dropping fighters from the UFC is like breaking up. If they’ve only fought twice for you, an email is fine. If they’ve been around a little longer, you gotta call. And if it’s an ex-champion who’s put in years of service, you take them out to a mediocre Mexican restaurant and break the news over appetizers, then let them have just one more go-round in the bathroom for old times’ sake.
Of course, if they’ve only had one fight? Like poor Josh Hendricks? Then you can inform them via a post on their Facebook page. Right before changing your status to “Accepting heavyweight applications.”

The UFC probably just told his agent, and his agent emailed him. The UFC will send him something official in the mail if for no other reason than to keep the letter in their own legal files ["this was a tough decision but part of the business we're in etc. etc] It's not gold watch but it's something.

This makes BJ's claim "GSP's got UFC Fighters? we've got UFC fighters (pointing to Rude Boy)" all the more hilarious.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 09:22
Well, his nickname is "Rude Boy"...was he expecting any other treatment? Oh man. That was bad.

"Well, his nickname is "Rude Boy"...was he expecting any other treatment? Oh man. That was bad." No, you know whats bad? His nickname! Hey-oh!
Fri, 02/27/09 - 09:35
I thought he looked good and scrappy, I would've liked to see him fight again.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 09:50
HAHA, remember BJ on PrimeTime when he said it was no big deal GSP was training with (top) UFC fighters like Rashad, Nate, etc. BJ pointed out he trains with UFC fighters too (Justin and Troy). Well I guess that's one less UFC figther BJ can claim he trains with! BJ thinks: Troy + Justin = Rashad + Nate BJ = Loser.

I would tell Rude Boy that simply "bringing it" isn't enough to keep your spot in the UFC. But then again, Pete Sell is 2-4 overall in the UFC, and not only are they still giving him fights, they're giving him a fucking MAIN CARD fight, apparently based on nothing else but the idea that he "brings it," so what do I know.

BWAHAHAHAHAH....good stuff

The guy should never been in the UFC in the first place. He was only brought back after TUF because he lucked out and got Richie "Little Turd" Hightower as an opponent on the finale. Meanwhile, Dan Barerra, whose 10 times the fighter Rude Boy is, loses a tough decision to Ben Saunders (who is looking good now) and gets cut immediately.

I’m damn happy that this clown got the boot. When you go around smeering peoples names with no evidence in mutliple interviews you are going to piss some people off. I saw this tool in 3 interviews calling GSP a ‘roider’ among other things. This guy is as smart as a tool and got what was coming to him. A serious beat down and then the boot from the UFC.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 10:06
Not surprised.... not a big loss either.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 10:19
maybe now bj will see that he has a permanent babysitter in his camp, and decide not to take time off after all
Fri, 02/27/09 - 10:38
of course they did it by email Dana doenst want Mandaloniz to call him bald while chewing with his mouth open
Fri, 02/27/09 - 11:38
I'll venture to say this is the most high-brow comedy CP caption ever. Nice work boys.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 11:40
Fuck, wrong story.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 12:48
This rude boy , bitch, is a nobody bad record one of bj cronies, trust me this guy is a punk, good riddons now he can sling burgers in on the big island, see ya bra.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 12:53
@Anonymous: BJ trained with three UFC fighters: Troy, Justin and "Da Spyder" Kendall Grove. Clearly, in BJ's mind: 3 UFC fighters > Rashad, Nate.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 08:23
fuck you cagepotato
Fri, 02/27/09 - 08:45
He looked good in that fight. Certainly hugely improved. I would have liked to see him fight again-- I really don't know what he's done to deserve all the hate.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 08:46
Wow, the caption was not that funny-- calm down.
Fri, 02/27/09 - 09:47
LBo, he's a BJ cronie and even worse, he's a Yes-man. Plus, he had a stupid nickname. Already three reasons to hate the dude.

Not a big loss but i found his fight entertaining, I wish him the very best of luck in his MMA career
Sat, 02/28/09 - 09:14
The least Dana could do is send him off with a bro-hug and the other half of the BFF necklace Mandaloniz bought him for Christmas. I wonder if Paul Kelly felt slick.......

Thanks a lot! I really enjoyed reading this. It makes me want to create my own blog.
