(Big Nog insists on riding this gentleman everywhere, and it is his privilege to serve the champ in such a fashion)
An unofficial source tells Cage Potato that the coaches have been signed for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, and they are none other than UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and former champ Frank Mir.
Of course, this means that Mir will be getting the next shot at the heavyweight strap, and that the title will be out of circulation for a looooong time while they film, edit, and air the show.
This latest revelation might also shed some light on why the UFC has been purging its heavyweight roster. With this development off in the distance, they have less need for guys like Tim Sylvia and Jake O’Brien hanging around the water cooler down at the Zuffa headquarters.
While we’re a little disappointed that we won’t get to see Sylvia coach his own TUF team and try desperately to get them to like him, at least this might help introduce Big Nog to some of the newer fans of the sport. Next thing you know all the kids will be going crazy for the butterfly guard. Don’t think it can’t happen.

I would be SO pissed if I got stuck on Mir’s team. Seriously, what a shitty consolation prize that would be.
You obviously dont know what u r talking about. Frank Mir is one of the most knowledgeable fighters there is. I would be extremely grateful to be able to learn half of what he knows about mma.
he deserves nothing, he should get what he earns and that's not much since coming back from the injury.... he lost to a UFC wash out in Pe De Pano, got demolished by Brandon Vera..... he has wins over a couple of guys that are absolutely clueless about bjj.... if you are buying this farce of a match-up go right ahead, but don't expect me to....
Probably, but what have we learned from the ufc? If you're tighy with silva, you get tilte shots, just look at chuck 1-0 and he wants back at rampage if he beats rashad....Bullllllshit
The heavies need a purge anyway most of those guys suck dick for nickels (eddie sanchez comes to mind)
He had his title stripped after his motorcycle accident. If anything, this is his long overdue redemption. He earned the title and was never given a chance to defend it.
He deserves to have a shot at it once again, no matter who he beat/lost to.
