“I believe in Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Shit Talking”
We’re only one episode into TUF Season 13, and some are already disappointed by the kinder, gentler Brock Lesnar. Sure, we say we want the series to focus more on the fights and less on the drama, but a little tension always makes things more fun. Though it’s far too early to call this season a hit or a flop, the latest TUF rumors already have us eagerly anticipating next season.
According to reports from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, noted MMA heels Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping are on deck to tackle coaching duties for season 14 and potentially redefine everything we thought we knew about coaching beef. The likelihood of this pairing hinges largely on the CSAC Ruling and the outcome of Chael’s legal woes.
Meltzer reports:
“The plan from Spike TV and UFC for the next season of Ultimate Fighter, which would air September through December, is to have Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping as coaches to build to a PPV match in December. The winner would likely be in line for the first middleweight title match of 2012.”
“Neither UFC nor Spike can publicly announce this due to Sonnen not being licensed in Nevada. … The decision, rumored for weeks, is controversial and will likely be heavily criticized if it does happen.”
As alluded to in the report, Sonnen’s had his share of legal/ethical problems as of late, but that hasn’t stopped him from angling for a return bout vs. Michael “Spitsping” with his usual flair. Bisping, never one to shy away from a bout of good-old fashioned shit talking, officially threw his hat in the ring with a comment in an Underground thread regarding a training camp photo of Sonnen and Jake Shields: “I think Jail just saw jake shields in the shower and cant take how large his balls were in relation to his..” Game on.
I think it’s fair to say that this season has potential for fireworks. Chael is a trash-talking media whore always eager to get his share of the spotlight. Bisping–who has been down this road before both as a contestant and a coach on The Ultimate Fighter–recently failed to take a ribbing in stride and things got a little out of hand in his match against Jorge Rivera. It’s safe to say that Chael’s barbs will sting much more than Rivera’s song and dance routines. Let’s hope there’s truth to the rumor and Dana puts this powder keg together.

commentsThe last episode of tuf I saw was when page and rashad were coaches.. I just don't care anymore.. but that's just me.
Please feel free to critic my spelling and grammar at will. I am new here and would expect no less that the usual internet banter from you foolish potato-ites. but, all that aside. after my initiation beating please notice the part of the article that read's... “Neither UFC nor Spike can publicly announce this due to Sonnen not being licensed in Nevada. … The decision, rumored for weeks, is controversial and will likely be heavily criticized if it does happen.”
This is just the UFC tossing us hints to look one way, while they pull our shirts over our heads and put in brock lesnar again. I second the Jones vs Evans TUF even though i think theres already enough hype to make an interesting match and not enough time to waste having the belt in a hold pattern any longer...i see the part about a number one contender status being the only plausible outcome of the deal...
It's okay we get it your a fan of fighters not fights. I gotcha. Thanks for the input.
RWR: yeah, hopefully they won't do the US Vs UK thing again.
Chael via unanimous decision is my prediction. And I agree he'll win the shit talking too. Bisping tries to twist the truth, Chael is not limited by such trivial things.
Oh and Just for haters sake!
Karma OUT!
Bisping has great cardio, probably as good if not better tan Sonnen (or anyone else in the division)
Bisping is a great striker. His boxing is crisp. The guy looks of the Frankie Edgar of the middle weight division and when he settles into his rythem, he's hard to dodge
Bisping has great takedown defence. He hasn't been taken down in his last four fights if i remember correctly.
Bisping is probably almost as strong as a non-roid-taking Sonnen so fighting off his back shouldn't be a problem.
Bisping has decent kicks. He's one of the few guys who does the one-two-three kick, where you attack the calf, then the ribs and then the head, pretty well.
Bispings weakness, which is a pretty big one in my opinion, is he lacks the KO power in his strikes and he has a relatively soft chin. He is more of a rythem fighter than a kockout artist.
Don't underestimate Bisping, this has all the makings of a close fight.
