Inspiration to all women Kim Couture competed at Ring of Combat 32 in Atlantic City on Saturday, dropping a unanimous decision to Team Tiger Schulmann product Munah Holland, who was making her pro MMA debut. As captured in the photo above, the aftermath was eerily familiar. The loss dropped Couture’s record to 3-4, and comes just three weeks after her submission victory over Felicia Wells at an Absolute Action MMA event in Kentucky; Wells also had an 0-0 record going into the fight, just like Couture’s two previous opponents, Marianna Kheyfets (who Couture lost to by first-round submission) and Rosa Vizcarra. Couture’s spotty record against inexperienced fighters is very surprising, considering what a beast she is in training.
In other somewhat-depressing weekend MMA news…
— Brett Rogers won his first post-Strikeforce fight, defeating Ruben Villareal by unanimous decision (29-28 x 3) at W-1: New Ground in Halifax. That’s right, Brett Rogers lost a round to freakin’ Warpath. In a post-fight interview, Rogers admitted that his conditioning wasn’t strong enough to handle a three-round fight. Murilo "Ninja" Rua lost a decision to Cesar Gracie product Roy Boughton at the same event. Not sure what Murilo’s excuse is.
— Also on Saturday, Paulo Filho suffered the second defeat of his career at a First Class Fight event in Sao Paulo. The tatted-up former WEC champ lost a unanimous decision to unbeaten prospect Marcos Rogerio de Lima.
— Taking a page out of Kim Couture’s book, Shinya Aoki faced Thai boxer/MMA newbie Yokthai Sithoar at DEEP 50, scoring a victory via keylock in just 60 seconds. Ikuhisa Minowa, Ryo Chonan, Yoshiro Maeda, and Masakazu Imanari were also victorious at the event.

I guess it is up to Ryan Couture to carry on the family name. Let's hope the Cyborg's don't reproduce (is that possible?) to have someone to carry on their name.
