Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Say What!? Rampage Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva Rumored (Again) for UFC 91 on Nov. 15

(Words of wisdom, courtesy of MMA-Core.)

Apparently the UFC doesn’t feel that their November 15 card featuring Randy Couture and Brock Lesnar as the main event has the appropriate drawing power just yet. If only they had one more high profile fight they could add, like perhaps an ex-champion who recently went off the deep end taking on an old nemesis from his past. But where to find a fight like that? Oh, wait…

According to MMA Rated, the UFC has offered both “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva a fight with one another at UFC 91 and are said to be close to making it official. This is the same fight that was once rumored for this event, then basically ruled out, now it’s back on the block again. If things pan out it would virtually assure that the November 15 event goes down in history as the night the UFC done came up big time. Couture-Lesnar and Rampage-Wanderlei? As Matt Serra might say, Fuhgeddaboutit.

Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t at least question how responsible it is to throw Rampage back into a fight so soon, much less against someone with two devastating knockout victories over him. Yes, we understand that they’re both different men these days, but is that really the kind of stress Rampage needs right now? You know, what with the court case and the devil and God battling inside his head over “The Secret” from time to time? That’s got to make it hard to concentrate on training.

That being said, the fight would make it so they could fill out the rest of the UFC 91 card with TUF rejects taking on junior high school bullies and still rake in their biggest pay-per-view take ever, and for some reason money seems to be the prevailing factor in this business more often than not. Go figure. Now we just sit back and wait for the official announcement via uncomfortable conference call.

Nightie night, Rampage. Sleep tight.

Wanderlei trains with killers, and Rampage now trains with Bisping and his blokes. Nuff said. Rampage will need his bible just to walk out of the ring under his own power.

So I guess the idea is to give Rampage another chance against someone who has already beaten him. Either Shogun or Wandy. I got to say Wandy is the tougher matchup for Quinton.

Hopefully Wolfslair can teach him how to stick and move and not get caught in Thai clinches...or maybe they should teach him not to sniff Wandy's knee so hard. Love Jackson, Love Wandy...but I think I would have rather seen Rampage vs. Rua or Silva vs. Rua.

You mean like how Vitor beat down Wandy in the UFC all those years ago?

Oh yea and I totally agree that sometimes Silva's strength seems super-human, while Rampage's just seems like a really strong dude. Thus I want to see Silva win, by way of ass kicking.

I want it to be one of those times where the guy is knocked out standing up and the winner just keeps beating on them. It's one of those unnecessary beatings that the ref doesn't call because he too enjoys watching it. Then once the "victim" falls the to ground the ref calls it and we all realize that he really died while standing up, yet his size and the way Silva was hitting him kept him standing as his body stumbled backward toward the cage.

1. Silva will DESTROY Rampage "I'm so jacked on Red Bull I think I'm the son of Zues and I lost my whole purse because my fight did go to decision and I got my ass whooped by Opie Taylor and I can't deal with the mental aspects of my profession" Jackson. Good luck saying that Buffer.

2. Rampages intro music should be 99 Red Balloons, just cuz.

3. Silva's DNA revealed he is 35% orangutan, explaining his super-human strength.

and lastly

4. Have you fuckers already forgotten the Rape Choke? Fugetaboutit!!!

If they put Couture vs Lesnar and Jackson vs Silva on the same card. I might actually pay for it.

Maaaaybee, if Rampage trains really hard, really hard, he has a chance. This would be a messed up fight for him to come back to, but if he did win, it would be big for him obviously.

Then again, I can picture Silva kneeing him hard enough over and over and over and over and over again for Rampage to actually fall (ooze?) through the cage.

"As Matt Serra might say, Fuhgeddaboutit." That really cracked me up! This fight would be sick! I have Rampage as the winner this time.

Wanderlei by multiple, brutal knees to the face. Then if, by way of celebration, he could point, laugh and say "Where's your jebus now, baby murderer?" I would be happy.

woot! The axe-murderer is so great to watch.

Silva w/ hair = victory for Rampage
Silva w/o hair = unstoppable

Rampage all the way baby!

I'm going to go with Wanderlei by murder in the second round. The winner then gets the winner of Liddell/Evans vs. Forrest Griffin. Quality, quality stuff.

I actually think that this is a good fight for Rampage. I think that Rampage needs to fight an opponent that makes him take it seriously. He needs a guy that scares him a little bit, that he is not overconfident against. Silva is perfect for Rampage. It will force him to train very hard and focus. This is a fight that Rampage will get very excited about, and will be determined to win. Like he was against liddell 2. I think Rampage wins this fight in brutal fashion.
