Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Send Us Your Questions for Alistair Overeem

(Two of the world’s leading causes of head injury.)

We got word this week from Alistair Overeem’s management that “The Demolition Man” will be taking some time away from his busy training schedule preparing for his first round Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix fight with Fabricio Werdum in July to answer our most pressing questions. We figured that, rather than ask the Team Golden Glory standout what we want to hear answered, we ¬†figured we would give The Potato Nation the opportunity to come up with the best questions they can for Overeem.

So here’s the deal. Post your questions for Alistair in the comments section and we will pick the top ten and send them to “The Reem” this weekend. The only rules are simple: no played out horsemeat jokes or disrespectful questions. We’re hoping to make this a regular feature, possibly with a revolving door of popular fighters answering your queries, and as such, we hope that you follow the advice your mom gave you growing up… No, not that you’ll burn in hell and go blind if you keep that up, that if you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

We all know that just because one hits hard doesnt mean they can win the fight, but of all the opponents that you have fought, who do you recall punched and/or kicked you the hardest?

When getting your hands wrapped, do they even ask you if you want the knockout or submission wrap; or do they just give you the knockout wrap without asking now?
Is your submission game as good as your brothers?

Would it be possible for you to grow your hair out like Carlos Newton?

Johnny Cage vs. Guile? who would win?

If you were allowed to tape up your hands and dip them into broken shards of glass a la Bloodsport before a fight would you?

Is smashing bikes with sledgehammers part of your training regiment?

Do you think bicycles are for bitches?

Have you thought about growing back the high-top fade you had during your early years?

Would you give up MMA to fight exclusively in K-1?

Is establishing long lasting dominance in K-1 of more importance to you than MMA?

Taking into consideration that the Dutch have produced the world's greatest kickboxers would you rather be known as the greatest Dutch mixed martial artist or the greatest Dutch kickboxer?

Love "the Reem" series!
Here's my Qs:
1.Have you got any plans to get into acting - like Randy Couture?
2. Who's your ideal next five opponents: Werdum, Barnett, Fedor, Lesnar, Velasquez?
3. Where do you prefer fighting and why - ring/cage and geographically?
4. What's the strangest request a fan or journalist has asked you to do?
5. Would Semmy Schilt ever return to MMA and if so would you fight him.
6. Have you ever kicked any opponent in the plums on purpose? If so who? (Cro Cop comes to mind)
7. What rules would you change in MMA or K-1?
8. Do you think wrestling is killing the entertainment value of MMA and should rules be put in place to stop so many fights turning into boring wrestling matches?

Not really a question:
Does it annoy you when retardo keyboard warriors make unfunny horsemeat jokes a thousand times that only they laugh at?

1- If you were not to be a fighter, what would you become ??

2- During bad times in your career, what kept you strong and willing to work hard for what you are today??

3- If by any possible reason, you were told to coach TUF, who would you like to be your opposing coach ??

Alistair, after watching you fight for years, and reading your interviews, and watching The Reem, and all of the other online interction we've had, I feel like we've gotten a lot closer.
So my question is...... do you think we should meet?

Would you ever consider training at a different gym for a short period, like many of the US fighters do? Is there any fighter or trainer, in particualar, you would like to train with outside of Golden Glory to mix it up a bit? Blackhouse, GSP, Greg Jackson, Freddie Roach perhaps(although your striking is already brilliant, in my opinion)...?
ExpectJesusBro- May 6, 2011 at 2:28 pm
Who's your favorite fighter to watch? I mean Combat Sports in general. Boxing, MMA, Kickboxing, whatever.
ExpectJesusBro- May 6, 2011 at 2:22 pm
hahaha... I second beating Mir's face in. and to make it a question:
Alistar, Would you like to fight Frank Mir in your Debut fight for the UFC when "Business as usual" begins shutting the doors on Strikeforce and would you mind beating his face in while your at it?
Fedor Penn- May 6, 2011 at 1:58 pm
What's it like knowing you can beat the shit out of any human being? Also please beat Frank Mir's face in.

Who do you feel was your toughest opponent to defeat so far? who had the most "Heart"? are they one and the same?
ExpectJesusBro- May 6, 2011 at 9:59 am
I want Rwilson's game question but, isn't he sort of obligated to eat Chandella (Horseface)...

1. How much interest do you have in fighting in the UFC heavy weight division.

2. As a fighter who is typically the bigger man, how do you plan on training against oppositions such as Cain Valazquez, who would not so easily be pushed around? Are their fighters in your camp, capable of pushing you around?

2 Questions

Who excites you the most in the strikeforce grand prix?

What your thoughts on the japanese mma scene? It's no secret it's declining but after the natural disasters, it could have only gotten worse.
LOKI- May 6, 2011 at 6:16 am
Alistair, you had at one point expressed a desire to fight your training partner Semmy Shilt in the K1 final, while its obvious where you stand on teammates fighting, given the fact that your older brother and self described 'hero' Valentjin has made a very strong case as an alternate in the SF tourny by subbing Ray Sefo in the first round, if the stars were to allign to such a point that the tournament actually comes to fruition and by some freak occurance you find yourself across the bracket from you own blood, would you regard this sittuation in the same way or would that fact be a sticking point? As an aside Joe and Dan Lauzon have themselves stated they would be quite happy to fight one another and on short notice.
LOKI- May 6, 2011 at 6:05 am
Alistair, while you are still a young man you have had a long and storied career. You have gone from being a fairly inconsistant LHW to an absolute world beater as a HW. To what do you attribute this transformation the most; mental and emotional obsticles overcome, the lack of the hobbling effects of weight-cutting, an advancement in your understanding of preperation and training, or simply a newfound hunger and focus leading to a dedication to all of the aformentioned?
LOKI- May 6, 2011 at 5:48 am
Alistair, have you seen Gary Goodridge anywhere? He was supposed to be here last Friday but never showed up. I am a little worried.
LOKI- May 6, 2011 at 5:46 am
Alistair, what exactly were your intentions with that baby hippo?
