Notes

- Hatsu Hioki shocked the Tokyo crowd by not just outgrappling Marlon Sandro, but controlling most of the striking exchanges as well. Sandro couldn’t seem to find his range, and fell victim to takedowns, ground-and-pound, and submission attempts from the Japanese fighter. In particular, two fully-locked armbar attempts in the third and fifth rounds seemed like they would tap any other fighter, but Sandro managed to hang on until the final bell. The final scores were 50-47, 49-47, and 48-47. Hiroki snatches the belt.

- Sengoku’s bullshit "must decision" rule struck again in the Blanco/Park fight. All three judges originally scored the fight a draw (30-30, 29-29 x 2), but in case of draws under Sengoku MMA rules, the judges who scored the fight a tie must choose a winner. Unsuprisingly, they all went with the rising star over the Korean who was making his promotional debut. It’s a shame that this counts as a loss on Parky’s record.

- Roxanne Modafferi caught a case of food poisoning the day before the event, and a ringside physician called the fight before it even started. As she told Sherdog, "I feel like this was my big chance to not only make a name for myself in Japan, but finally face Akano, who I’d been wanting to fight for years. My body betrayed me and left me quaking with fever and chills. I pray I get another chance."

I would like to fuck all the losers in the ass with my veiny cock, bareback. Then the winners could have a bukkake party on my face. What a creamy delight that would be!
