I know some of you hate watching Shields fight, but when you look at the fact that he is the only fighter to have taken a round from Georges St-Pierre the past few years and that he dominated Dan Henderson, why shouldn’t the former Strikeforce middleweight champ get a shot at Silva before he retires? Shields wrestling and jiu-jitsu are superior to “The Spider’s” and if he can take the champ down, who knows what will happen?

1) Curt Thomas teaches Silva gymkata, Dana approves putting a pommel horse in the octagon, Silva VS anyone that can't grapple.
But seriously, how can there be a serious conversation about anyone other than GSP or Jon Jones fighting Silva? Personally, I would rather see JJ fight Silva because physically and for the most part skills-wise, the men are somewhat evenly matched. Skills-wise, GSP and Silva are also a match, but I don't think I'd want to see a bloated GSP taking on a man whose larger frame allows him to walk around comfortably at 220.
