Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

So *Now* What Do You Think About Ronda Rousey? [SQUABBLER]

(Ronda Rousey wallpaper via MMAFanMade. Click image for full-size version, and please disregard the blatant spelling error.)

Depending on your perspective, Ronda Rousey‘s UFC debut last weekend either demonstrated that she’s indeed worthy of the name “champion,” or proved once again that she’s a one-trick pony. So I ask you: If you were skeptical of the Rousey hype before her armbar win over Liz Carmouche, did the fight change your opinion of her? And if you believed in the power of Rowdy before, did she move up another level in your pantheon of MMA worship? Is the UFC women’s bantamweight division already more interesting than men’s flyweight?

Once again, our pals at Squabbler have set up a widget (see below) for you to record your 15-second arguments in video form. Click on my face to hear my quick take, and if you disagree, you can record a response by clicking the orange “Let’s Squabble” button. Once we get a few solid entries in the mix, you’ll be able to vote on the best one, which will score a CagePotato t-shirt next week. Any questions, let us know. And follow @Squabbler on twitter to stay up-to-date on more arguments around the Internet.

I'm someone who occasionally pops-up in the "Around the Web" section - see if you can figure out which one!
teep- February 26, 2013 at 3:30 pm
Just kidding. I am a common man, I drive a common van, my dog ain't got a pedigree...
teep- February 26, 2013 at 3:25 pm
What if I was someone you might recognize? Then I would be outed!
El Guapo- February 26, 2013 at 3:20 pm
More video, less balls, please.
Thumblaster- February 26, 2013 at 3:16 pm

teep- February 26, 2013 at 3:04 pm
Good thing I have big balls...
teep- February 26, 2013 at 2:50 pm
I have actually been reading this site for almost as long as I have been watching MMA. I never got up the balls to post my opinions until this year.
ron mexico- February 26, 2013 at 2:54 pm
@teep in that case video comments are right around the corner for you!
teep- February 26, 2013 at 2:48 pm
@ El Guapo that's why I like you guys. You are so accepting! Except for today, I guess I made some writers get all bothered!
teep- February 26, 2013 at 2:46 pm
I meant give, sorry!!
El Guapo- February 26, 2013 at 2:45 pm
"Anymore"? Let me assure you Teep that you weren't attractive enough to begin with. No offense, but BG looks like a young Adam Sandler, Danga's a dead ringer for Carlos Condit and Sexy Rexy... Well, the name speaks for itself, nawmsayin?
teep- February 26, 2013 at 2:45 pm
@ ron mexico and J. Jones something else to get me at with? Naw, I like the allure of him wondering what I look like now!
ron mexico- February 26, 2013 at 2:39 pm
@teep Show Yo Face!! Give the people what they want
teep- February 26, 2013 at 2:36 pm
@ron mexico I am not for sure I am "attractive" enough for this site anymore!
ron mexico- February 26, 2013 at 2:33 pm
@teep @biohazardone @j.jones Why don't you guys leave a video in the Squabble above and let everyone else decide who has the better argument?
biohazardone- February 26, 2013 at 2:27 pm
Actually, to me it did. I am beginning to wonder that no matter how much a fighter trains to counter or defend the armbar....THAT SHIT DONT MATTER!!!! WHAT RONDA WANTS RONDA GETS!!!!! She will get you in that armbar weather you want to or not. I mean come on, 7 fights and I believe all end with her armbarring her opponent. Most of these fighters knew she had this weapon...and they trained did not matter. Ronda's will to get you in that armbar is a lot strong then whatever training you had. I have to say, Im impressed.
teep- February 26, 2013 at 2:27 pm
Actually Jones, I have been following the sport for many years now. I was mad when Brock was brought in for a title fight and he had not earned it. There were others who deserved it. I am not saying that Rhonda doesn't deserve her limelight, it is just wrong when everyone talks about how attractive she is first. It is not just this site, it is every site. Then is stated how she has won every fight with arm bars and she is an Olympic medalist. I don't care what any fighter looks like. I just want to see great fights. Plus, isn't this the site that just wrote last week that "deserves" means nothing in the UFC anymore? Plus, rumor has it that she is DW's mistress - I was also hinting at that. (so special)

"I think WMMA should be just the same as men's MMA, you have to earn it. It does not matter what you say or what you look like!"

Uhh...teep, have you been following the sport, like, at all lately?
teep- February 26, 2013 at 2:02 pm
@ bgoldstien: I am not for sure that the whole attractive thing really is a good use of words in MMA. If that equals marketability, I guess that is good for her. But not all female fighters are attractive or good at fighting. I think only true MMA fans care about the fighting. So what happens when she loses eventually and there is no one to replace her (IE: attractive, says crazy shit.) I think WMMA should be just the same as men's MMA, you have to earn it. It does not matter what you say or what you look like! Isn't that what these women have been fighting for - for years?
mma4ever- February 26, 2013 at 1:41 pm
i Would Bang Her Only If The Belt Was On The Line ...Champion Vs Champion Set It Up And Ill Be There .
bgoldstein- February 26, 2013 at 12:50 pm
@teep: Well, besides all the first-round armbars, she's attractive, and an Olympic-medalist, and knows how to say crazy shit to get attention. She's light-years beyond every other female fighter in terms of marketability. Who else deserves it more?
teep- February 26, 2013 at 12:34 pm
She can fight, we all knew that. I think the question that most MMA fans were asking is: does she deserve all the hype? There are other women fighters, so why was she so special to get the first UFC fight?
