Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Strikeforce Announces Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers For This Fall

Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers

At today’s Fedor Emelianenko meet-n-greet in New York City, Strikeforce announced that the top heavyweight’s next opponent will be everybody’s favorite work-doer, Brett "The Grim" Rogers.  There’s no solid date just yet, but Strikeforce is shooting for late October or early November, though we all know that if you announce the date of your big show too far in advance it just gives the UFC more time to work up a solid counter-programming effort.

The decision to match Emelianenko up with Rogers means that Strikeforce is entering the build-up phase of their Fedor marketing approach.  According to our rankings, it’s the #1 heavyweight in the world taking on the #10 heavyweight in the world.  Not exactly a clash of titans, at least on paper, but as long as Rogers doesn’t test positive for steroids and Fedor doesn’t have any trouble with his Work Visa, I suppose we can’t complain.  Now who wants to guess what the odds will be on this one?  If Fedor is anything less than a 5-1 favorite, I’ll be stunned.

It looks like Brett is surprised at Fedor doing the ol' rub-the-palm-with-your-finger-while-shaking-hands trick.

Look, Brett is 10-0. Carwin is 11-0. Both have spent about the same time in the ring. All Brett"s win have come by KO, Carwin has a few subs in there. The people they have beat? About the same, nobody great. Brett beat AA and Carwin Gonzaga.

But yet, the same people who say Carwins going to beat Lesner are not giving Brett a chance in hell. I have watched every fight that Brett has been in since he got on at EliteXC. The man is dangerous, Blue collar, and Hungry. Fedor may be hungry, But Bretts no Ice Cream sandwich bitches. Look out, because soon there will be a end to the myth.

Brett submits the fool in the 1st round Via pity.

Rogers has the look of a man that just saw the "Cheaters" camera crew enter the club.

I agree with your prediction on how the fight will go.

I thought that Wesley Willis comment was pure gold! You guys wouldn't know comedy if it slapped you in the face like Luiz Cane.

^^ Fedor has to fight Rogers, Overeem and Werdum, the only three legit heavyweights in Strikeforce. Personally I don't care what order he goes through them.

Fedor by GNP leading to a sub. Rogers will get exposed.

cage or no cage fedor will beat rogers. grim has a punchers chance but that's it.
Nippletwist- August 26, 2009 at 6:01 pm
im on the brink of just saying fuck fedor, he's ducking the best fighters. him and overeem would be interesting but this is some bullshit.
MMA Montage Fighter- August 26, 2009 at 5:11 pm
Anyone think the cage is going to pwn fedor in this match?

Hendo has said before that it was a bit hard adjusting to the cage coming from the ring. No longer do the ropes slide off your back. Instead you have the velcro-ish steel netting that your backfat creates considerable friction against.

At any rate, i hope fedor loses so I don't have to read about him anymore. His only legitimate competition is farr farrrr away in the UFC, with chest-cock tatoos and full time engineering jobs...

The "Dead fish handshake" is just Fedors way of letting Brett win something, he actually told Brett that the next time they touch Brett will be going to sleep, and by the expression on his face he knows it to be true, lol

Baby, you've got a stew going!
AkilleeZ- August 26, 2009 at 3:01 pm
Fedor: "Hello, I'm Fedor Emelianenko with Dateline NBC's 'to Catch a Predator,' why don't you have a seat?"
Brett: "I knew someone was following me. You bitch-ass, ninja-turtle-lookin-muthafucka."
Caveman Curtis- August 26, 2009 at 2:58 pm
I just don't understand why rogers is all of a sudden a threat. He did beat Andrei but you could tell before their fight that something was definitely up with the Pitbull. He seemed unsure and depressed.Fedors got it easily. And then hopefully they'll kick the grim off the top 10 list....where he never belonged.
scumbag- August 26, 2009 at 2:56 pm
does he have a hat on or is that a bobby brown side fro he is rocking????
scumbag- August 26, 2009 at 2:54 pm
how much did he want from affliction to fight fedor once barnett tested+ $500000 or something i wonder if he is getting that????
Clyde- August 26, 2009 at 2:53 pm
I am seriously considering getting that T-shirt that the Grim is wearing. And I think he's actually got a shot; He certainly made Arlovski look like easy work, whereas Fedor took a lot of hits before catching the off switch with a big swing.

Say what you want about styles make fights, I won't write Rogers off.
