Strikeforce Deathwatch: ‘Bigfoot’ Silva’s Manager ‘Sure’ His Client Will Be in UFC Soon

(Exhibit ‘G’ in the murder case against Dana White and the Fertittas)

In spite of the fact that Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva’s stock in the heavyweight division dropped a few points following his knockout loss to Daniel Cormier in the semi-finals of Strikeforce’s heavyweight grand prix, his manager, Alex Davis is confident that his client’s next fight will be in the UFC’s Octagon.

“He has a contract with Strikeforce, but Strikeforce is now controlled by the UFC and we’re watching Strikeforce fighters going to the UFC all the time,” Davis told TATAME in a recent interview. “UFC’s heavyweight division is big, but they could have even more [top talent] and I’m sure Bigfoot will be in the UFC real soon. There’s a lot of great fights for him inside the Octagon, and he’ll shine there.”

Although the report went on to state that “nothing is official” yet in regards to Silva’s migration to the UFC, there must be a reason why Davis feels so strongly that it’s going to happen, whether it be a conversation he had with the UFC brass or rumors that are swirling amongst industry insiders. If Silva does jump over from Strikeforce, the move will be further proof that Zuffa has no plans to keep it’s “B” league afloat. Considering that Strikeforce’s biggest asset is arguably its heavyweight roster, if the UFC picks it clean like it did the promotion’s champions like Dan Henderson, Nick Diaz and Alistair Overeem, the writing on the wall couldn’t be any clearer.

^ Phil Baroni came back to the UFC from a loss, someone on this site mentioned that last week. I'm not so sure the UFC will pick him up, If Silva has a contract with Strikeforce that might just be where he is staying. My theory is that the UFC will keep Strikeforce running long enough to poach their talent while leaving the unwanted to finish up their contracts, every Strikeforce event is now truly an audition for the big show

He's gonna need a few wins before getting into the UFC.

Does anyone get into the UFC on a loss?

@mister toad it's a shame because he lost to fabricio wedrum who was booted from the ufc and yeah the heavyweight devision is the ufc's worst devision but it's getting better. why i don't like silva is because hes not a good fighter hes just fuckin gigantic. the same with brock lesnar hes only in the ufc because hes huge and his name. and normally you don't get into the ufc coming off a loss. i want to see cormier in the ufc he has talent

If you get busted using PEDs and say "You know what, fuck you I don't have to explain shit" and run off and fight in Japan instead of taking your punishment like a man, you should not be allowed to fight in the UFC.

Theoretically, if a guy can beat the absolute lowest guy in his division employed by the UFC, there is no reason why he shouldn't be there.

Well said, Mr. Toad. UFC's heavyweight division (aside from the top 2... okay 4) is nothing to boast about.

Bigfoot would be fine in the UFC. Some people just don't like him because he's funny looking (you know who you are).

Why is it a shame that Bigfoot goes to the UFC? He isn't the best fighter, and he's had some embarassing shows, but don't pretend like only the best are in the UFC. Especially the heavyweight division. If Bigfoot can beat at least the lower tier UFC Heavyweights (which he can), then why the hell shouldn't he be in the UFC? A guy doesn't have to be in the top 10 to get in the UFC. Look at the guys from The Ultimate Fighter.
