‘Strikeforce: Nashville’ Tickets Go on Sale This Week + Unfortunate Rumor of the Day

Behold the sparse, no-bullshit poster for Strikeforce: Nashville, which clearly takes its design cues from this. Tickets for the April 17th event — priced from $25 to $195 — go on sale to the general public on Friday. Pre-sale begins today at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT for Strikeforce Insider members.

Speaking of Strikeforce, Mauro Ranallo passes along the rumor that the Overeem vs. Rogers fight in May could be for Strikeforce’s heavyweight title, as Fedor Emelianenko‘s status with the organization grows hazier. Facepalm, bro. If Fedor can’t make it work with Strikeforce, his only available option is to track down Josh Barnett in Dream. And after that? Is Zuluzinho available for a rematch?

Well, lucky for Jake he hasn't pissed Dano off.

That was kind of scary the way he bullied and hunted down Bisping like a terminator. Almost made you feel sorry for the poor jerk.

And Dano does slip up every once in awhile. Never twice, but once can be enough.

Hmm. Maybe Dana has some loophole in Fedor's Strikeforce contract to exploit? I know Fedor is allowed to fight in japan, what about Dubai?
AussieJosh- March 3, 2010 at 1:35 pm
Why is Rogers fighting overeem for the belt? why not Fedor?

In Australia befror weigh ins Dana did a Q and A to the public, it was also posted on the UFC website, Dana said there still working on getting Fedor and he thinks they will have him sooner then we all think..............with a smile on his face.

I just can't understand why M1 global is getting paid lots of money to fuck everything up. They bring absolutely nothing to the table. Does anyone have an explanation for Fedors absolute loyalty to them??

This is total bullshit. Coker just needs to straight up cut Fedor and send him packing. If he wants to come back sans mafia, cool. If not, good luck negotiating with the UFC. More likely, have fun fighting in Japan against all the cans you have already crushed. Fedor vs Overeem needs to happen right now. You cannot have 2 champions in the same weight class in the same promotion. Oh wait, Juicereem is dodging athletic commissions like his career depended on it and Fedor is "above" fighting for the Strikeforce belt because he already his his own belt.

Fedor's fight career has absolutely no direction. So disappointing, and amazing guy to watch but I'm getting sick of all the bullshit.

Is it just me or does Sheilds not look ALOT bigger then his last couple fights? Even Hendo was on record saying that lately Shields is usually bigger then him??? Looks like he's almost to big to cut down to 170 now...Hopefully its not as boring as his last tilt with Mayhem, who by the way should be on either April or Mays card :/ Surprised he hasnt announced anything yet. Same for Jacare, was hopin he'd be on APrils card but have a feeling Mays card is gonna be just as stacked, if not better then Aprils...Heres hoping Hendo decapitates Jake!!!

Yeah I thought it was confirmed that Fedor was gonna take on Verdum at their May card. Although I've read on other sites that the deal between Strikeforce and M-1 was that Fedor only fights on CBS and it looks like the May card's on Showtime. I guess M-1 is pissed cuz they're not getting prime time exposure and Strikeforce is trying to sign a new deal. Why didn't they sign Fedor/Verdum for the CBS card?

I dont get it, I havent heard this news about what has happened with Fedor/Strikeforce. Can anyone help me out? If it's true that really sucks. I wan't him to keep fighting, I thought he was fighting Werdum or something. If they do part ways I hope he goes to the UFC before he gets any older than he already has.
ArmFarmer- March 3, 2010 at 8:31 am
God I hate M1.. I just don't get where they get off thinking they are owed so much profit when they themselves don't really have anything to offer other than the skills and services of another man. Really wish Fedor would ditch them.

Strikeforce seems to make some dumb decisions too.. That's why ufc's contracts seem so strict, because they don't want to get constantly screwed over by fighters taking advantage of them and holding onto one of their belts for 3 years without having a fight in their organization.

i say fuck fedor since he's letting m-none ruin his career.. let him take his WAMMA title and defende it everywhere he goes..

You know, i started to write that i was confused by StrikeForce and that it seemed Coker doesn't know how to run a promotion. But that's not true: he's been doing this for a long time, he's well-respected in the business, and they are probably the most legit challenger the UFC has faced in the US. StrikeForce has put on some good cards, and every time we say the same thing: wow, nice card, but they don't have enough fighters to keep doing this. Well, look at this card. Three title fights--StrikeForce seems to be doing its part. If anything, M-1 is screwing up another promotion's mojo.

I hope things go well and all the fights come together--i can always enjoy more free MMA.

knucklesamitch- March 3, 2010 at 6:27 am
Wait, let me get this straight...M-1 Global is screwing with Strikeforce? I can't wait for Dana White's profanity laced "I told you so" v-blog. Classic.
mvaughan06- March 3, 2010 at 6:17 am
