When we reported that the Tim Sylvia/Ray Mercer "Crystal Pepsi" match had been shot down by the the New Jersey Athletic Control Board, you probably thought it was the last you’d hear about this strange footnote in Tim’s career. Well guess what — life’s not fair. Monte Cox has moved Adrenaline III to a different state, and the Maine-iac’s pro boxing debut will go on. As Sherdog reports:
Well, that’s one way to get around the issue. There are no other bouts scheduled for Adrenaline III yet — and the league’s website offers nothing other than a link for a motorcycle helmet dealer — but if there’s no regulatory body to answer to, there’s really nothing stopping Monte from filling out the card with midget kickboxing, lesbian submission grappling, and a donkey act. Sounds like Birmingham is in for a good night.
Semi-related: Frank Shamrock also has his eyes on a move to pro boxing. In a new interview with MMA Convert, Shamrock says he might give the sweet science a try after he takes care of business against Nick Diaz, Cung Le, and (hopefully) Tito Ortiz. What, no more "Blood Brothers"?

commentsSlim Sylvia - "Sorry dude, this arm belongs to Frank Mir"
yah and who really cares about a boxing match....im really dying to see arlovski box to.....
If it wasn't for him, Timmay wouldn't have any friends.
I'm still kinda shocked how a fighter with a 24 and 5 record, 2 time heavyweight champ with 2 successful title defenses whose last 7 fights have been against big-time fighters like Fedor, Arlovski (twice), Vera, Nogueira, Couture and Monson (well, not so "big-time") and still be so hated by the MMA community.
Of course, he has dropped 3 of his last 4 fights, 5 of his last 8 fights have gone to decision and was the same guy who supplied us with such retarded quotes as:
“90 percent of the game is half mental”
and...
“I'm the oldest I’ve ever been, right now”.
Look, his striking was pretty good against Cung, but Franks at his best on the mat, on his back, covered in baby oil and smiling for the pornographers camera.
...now just try to get that visual outta yer head!
He thinks he can box? Then fine...box Nick Diaz. He'll show you some of the "sweet science' and knock ya into next Tuesday.
Stick with what works, Frank. Your one of the best MMA fighters. Stick with what works.
Personally, I know why he wants to do this. It's all about the money...and that's OK. For years, Frank and many of his ilk have busted their stones to establish this sport and then they look at the paydays that mediocre boxers make. Yeah, I'd wanna jump ship too!
